I moved wire foward and play'd with weighting and then beet the #^&#^&#^&#^& out of it on bass and blues, those ones You see are long like 7 to 8" and they smoke the hell out of a pencil popper and are very easy to work. Jigman 12-14-2004, 12:58 AM :kewl: plugage. How do those pencil things sit in the water? Jigman doyle007 12-14-2004, 08:15 AM good show ol' chap. more material for my screensaver. The Dad Fisherman 12-14-2004, 08:55 AM You know, the best way to show how great a plug catches is to have someone, who is relatively new to the sport, catch on them. Being a novice myself i will be happy to volunteer my services to help you prove thier fish catching prowess. Just send them to me and i will put fish on them. :D PASurfer 12-14-2004, 09:15 AM Originally posted by Jigman :kewl: plugage. How do those pencil things sit in the water? Jigman His reference to pencils seems to  everyone, even you Jigsy... the front loop position and body style should tell you it's more like a zara than a pencil. K.I.S.S., BM... purdy.:claps: Jigman 12-14-2004, 09:49 AM Originally posted by PASurfer His reference to pencils seems to  everyone, even you Jigsy... the front loop position and body style should tell you it's more like a zara than a pencil. Thats what I was thinking too, but you never know ;) BM speak still  me :smash: Jigman Flaptail 12-14-2004, 01:26 PM It's based on a couple years of cut and try. I can vouch for Bassmaster on this one I have seen this one evolve. It's not a pencil and it's not a Zara. It owes it's heritage to a Reverse Atom action. Dave has been working on this a while and it's his design based on a few qualities of different classic plugs. The only thing wrong with posting them is that someone will now rip -off the design and be putting them out in every color and pattern and posting "loookey what I did" without crediting Dave for his year or so of work putting it all together. I have no problem with someone copying someones work but I do have a problem when they do not acknowledge the original builder.;) Bronko 12-14-2004, 01:47 PM Well said Flaptail, and you can bet somebody is already spinning a prototype.:smash: Bernzy 12-14-2004, 02:21 PM Originally posted by Flaptail The only thing wrong with posting them is that someone will now rip -off the design and be putting them out in every color and pattern and posting "loookey what I did" without crediting Dave for his year or so of work putting it all together. Credit to Dave for taking an idea and being creative enough  to make it his own.:kewl: Bernzy JHABS 12-14-2004, 02:39 PM Yes well said Flaptail, Someone will post one in a day or two :smash: BigFish 12-14-2004, 02:40 PM I turned a couple hundred this morning!:laughs: PASurfer 12-14-2004, 04:02 PM Still say the picture looks more like a zara then a pencil OR reverse atom, Flap. :p But I get where you're coming from. vineyardblues 12-14-2004, 04:24 PM dave the yellow paint is way cool... good luck vb Krispy 12-14-2004, 04:39 PM its a Prancer. They been around along time  bassmaster 12-14-2004, 05:46 PM Originally posted by Krispy its a Prancer. Flaptail 12-14-2004, 05:53 PM It's true now that I just came up from the cave it does resemble an Arbogast Prancer. The Prancer had an external lead tail though. This version, BM's, is slightly thinner now than the ones I saw him test and that Prancer is thin as well. I would chock that up to coincidence.:D BigFish 12-14-2004, 05:54 PM All the "props" to you BM...you da man!;) You do nice work and you put alot into your plugs.:btu: bassmaster 12-14-2004, 05:58 PM Originally posted by Flaptail It's true now that I just came up from the cave it does resemble an Arbogast Prancer. Flaptail 12-14-2004, 06:06 PM Dave, I do not have a pic but I know the Arbogast plug well as I had a couple but they are long gone now. Your plug, by shear coincidence, looks a lot like it but there are disimilarities as well. The eye loop was in the same place and the action was the same as well as the plug dimensions ( lengthxwidth). The Prancer hasn't been made in 25 years at least.:) Bassman18 12-14-2004, 06:08 PM could this be it? http://www.byronsantiquelures.com/prancer.htm bassmaster 12-14-2004, 06:14 PM what the %$%$%$%$ does that thing have to do with what i made jesus chris all %$%$%$%$ing mity bassmaster 12-14-2004, 06:15 PM Originally posted by Flaptail Dave, I do not have a pic but I know the Arbogast plug well as I had a couple but they are long gone now. I really want to see one now thefishingfreak 12-14-2004, 06:31 PM i think they look pissa!! i'd like to troll one of those surfsters way back on wire in a certian channel in boston. way too deep for anyone else:D like cod deep. or on a 3 way with about 16 oz when the tide is rippin' 4+kts and tears up the live bait. those would kill. i notice a little marbly freaky paint there too. very nice:) vineyardblues 12-14-2004, 06:50 PM Who cares ??? It's a cross between a fred Arbogast Prancer/ dasher and a Smithwick Wood Devils Horse Prancer Fishing! SEnd me one so I can get a better look please. Ho Ho VB bassmaster 12-14-2004, 07:26 PM Hi VB.;) Hi freak:) spence 12-14-2004, 07:30 PM The top one in yellow and black reminds me of a Panzer tank from WWII. -spence bassmaster 12-14-2004, 07:33 PM Originally posted by spence The top one in yellow and black reminds me of a Panzer tank from WWII. -spence cool now im a nazi:laughs: all you need to do is break up the solid color with black paint actually. the mack may have its times but as a fisherman the above is all you really need Backbeach Jake 12-14-2004, 08:43 PM Got two prancers one from the beach and one from the welfoot flea. Their action sorks! BM's wood definately don't sork. if ya can keep thebloos away:( I really don't see much resemblance between those two lures:confused: Panzer Mac, I love that name. kippy 12-14-2004, 08:48 PM Dave you should keep the plugs stashed away in the man cave because some here are jealous.. bassmaster 12-14-2004, 10:29 PM Originally posted by Bernzy Nice work Bubba :btu: :hihi: :kewl: Bernzy  Krispy 12-14-2004, 10:33 PM Jealous  gimme a break :D Everyone knows me , knows Im busting on BM. He knows it too. Just some fun :smash: bassmaster 12-14-2004, 10:43 PM krissy You got a pic of one of those plugs? I doubr there any thing like what I have made as size and weighting go..... i told You you suck:D ROCFISH 12-21-2004, 03:30 PM I've been following this discussion and in fairness to BM offer the following suggestion. As an independent observer I will be willing to provide my services. Just send me one sample of each color of the new plug in every size available and I will carefully analize weigh and field test them for you. In six to eight months I'll give you a detailed written report. This should help to avoid and eliminate any possible claims of patent infringement or copy catting . Since it is Christmas time I will forgo my usual fee for this important service. Happy Holidays to all Dan;) reelecstasy 12-21-2004, 04:20 PM BM nice work...anyone that puts that kind of time in and effort deserves some props...credit where credit is due...:kewl: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
