I hope your right afterhours I can't believe that GS just seems to have an endless supply of cash laying around to acquire some of these players. Seems to me the other teams that can't afford to pay need to start squeaking for a salary cap that would keep them all on a level playing field, as it stands now the other teams don't stand a chance. It is ruining baseball!

Vector - I agree, without an NFL like cap baseball small markets have little to no shot.

Thank God (and nesn) our very own Win City has a big market.

The Unit isn't a done deal yet. It's supposed to be a 3 way trade among the Yankees, D-Backs and Dodgers. The key players involved are Vazquez from the Yanks to the Dodgers, Shawn Green from the Dodgers to the DBs, and Johnson to the Yanks.

What may queer the deal is that the Dodgers just lost Beltre to free agency (signed with the Mariners) and may now not be so willing to part with Green. Their only player who has proven offensive production is that loony-toon Milton Bradley, a suspension-in-waiting :D

Green would also have to waive his no-trade clause to be moved.

even though our team has deep pockets, i'm in favor of a salary cap. it would be in the best interest of the game:)
