A few weeks ago, I changed banks. The payroll officer advises me that I will be receiving a check this week rather than direct deposit, which is fine. It's that I finish on Fridays at 12pm and they don't get the checks until about 1pm so I'm ending up working past my regular hours just to get that check, since I don't want to leave work without the check in hand.
I used to have direct deposit and it was supposed to show up sometime after midnight on Thursday. After a few bounced checks I found out sometimes it wouldn't go in till Monday or Tuesday :smash: Payroll dept. said it's not their fault, bank the checks drawn from says it's not their fault and my bank says it's not their fault :af: I'll never get direct deposit again.

cal its not their fault so they are telling you its your fault ! LOL
banks tellers keep pushing direct deposit and their jobs right out the window . Im the only one in my building that gets a check everyone else ( 320 ) got direct deposit . so payroll keeps asking why I dont ? I want a real check so that when I go to get cash I know Im getting what I expect not a bounced check .

I've had direct deposit thru ADP for as long as I can remember, from 2 different employers. Not a single screw-up in all that time on ADP's end.
CAL, my guess would be it's your payroll dept's fault.
Mike, I thought the same thing. Doesn't matter now, got laid off 2 weeks ago :laughs:

Mine is always on time except when payroll dept goofs. Direct deposit cuts the "withhold til after noon" game out too. I work on commission, if there's no work I go fishing. Making me wait for a paycheck just kills my "team" spirit. Yeah, yeah there's no "I "in team, but there's an "m" and an "e"

I've always had direct deposit, and I've never had a problem until recently when switching banks... and I had to wait til after 1pm on Friday before getting my damn check and I ran to the bank to cash and deposit it so I can run and get me the gifts for my wife.
And I never write checks out for money I don't have IN my account ALREADY. That's a rule I follow, since I absolutely *HATE* bounced checks and seeing a $25 dollar fee for a damn check that didn't go through.

The bounced check penalty makes me go airbourne! If I don't have it then I just don't have it. I won't gamble on deposit timing either.
