Working on a project for Christmas and I had to mask off something to paint and the masking tape left some residue....is there anything I can use that will not harm or remove the paint itself?

Thanks in advance.;)

try soapy water.
or rubbin it off with your finger

what happened? leave the tape on too long?

Rattlecan....won-t come off with finger....it was only on for a few hours, long enough for paint to dry!

try stickin more fresh tape over it and pulling it off.
like dabbing it with more sticky tape. might work

BigFish

No....regular masking tape....it did not bother the Krylon paint just the other brand. All set...repainted affected area and removed tape immediately. Looks great and thanks for your help all. Tried the rubbing alcohol, no go so just repainted.;)

Gotta get me some of the blue tape though!;)

Larry, next time you are in Beaver woodworking go to where the masking tapes are and buy some green 3M tape it is specifically for laquer, the residue won't be left behind on any surface. It is NOT cheap but well worth the extra you would pay for the cheap blue or green or other painters tape.
