A guy I used to fish with occasionally down the backside used to tell me all kinds of stories about him and his son hunting over Nantucket. He said it was like shootin fish in a barrel. He said they'd have a good sized deer and be done within a half hour of starting every day. Almost made me want to start huntin.

I would imagine its almost as bad as Block. Deer everywhere.
Good luck over there guys.

I knew some guys from Plymouth that would go over there for the gun season. Almost everyone got at least two deer. They hunt patches and do "bark" drives to push the deer. The woods are very thick and the deer are rather small. Stand hunting is very tough you really have to move them. There is also alot of private land it gets to be a game of getting kicked out of woods, then its off to another spot. There are not alot of places to stay over there and they are expensive. You are also at the mercy of the ferry and its schedule and cancellations, crossing the sound in winter can be rough. This is what I have been told by more than a few hunters that have gone there, myself I have never hunted there.

Thats what I heard to that its impossible to come home without a deer. I have been doing my research and going to head down in a couple of weeks to do some scouting. Also check out a couple of places to stay.
