Got this emailed to me today. Thought it was pretty cool so I'll post it. Happy and Healthy holidays to all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

T'was the night before Christmas, when all down the beach

The fish were there breaking, but just out of reach:

My plug was tied on with the greatest of care,

In hopes that a cow bass soon would be near:

All of us casters should have been in our beds,

But visions of linesiders swam through our heads:

I was clad all in neoprene with a warm woolen cap,

And made cast after cast, without even a tap,

When out in the surf there arose such a clatter,

I tossed out my plug, and the bait it did scatter.

Away in the surf, I saw a great flash,

Tore open my plug bag and ripped through my stash,

The moon on a crest of a wave, the wind it did blow,

Gave the luster of midday to the behemoth below,

When what to my wondering eyes should appear?

The fish of a lifetime now straining my gear,

My heart beat so lively, tic tic-tic tic,

I knew right away that I had to act quick.

As she swam out to sea, I played her smart game,

If I lost this fish, I’d have no one to blame!

Now the drag it did scream, and the line it did fall!

She pulled and she pulled, til there was no line at all.

As I turned her head the snow began to fly,

I worked her towards shore as clouds filled the sky,

Into the wash so quickly I flew, I pumped and I pumped, and my fish was there too.

With the breaking of a wave, she slid on the beach,

The fish of a lifetime was now in my reach.

I fell to the surf, my knees hit the ground,

I saw in an instant, there was no one around.

Should I keep this fish? She’s my only proof,

Else my friends would all think, this was all a big spoof.

I watched as she lay where the wash met the snow,

And knew at that moment, I must let her go.

As she slid in the surf and swam out of view, I screamed all my might with all that I knew,

“Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.”
