MAC 12-27-2004, 04:45 PM I did it on a delta. Pretty much the same machine. Only problem you might have is with the lock lever on top of tailstock justplugit 12-27-2004, 04:51 PM Thanks Mac,i was also told that by another very:kewl: guy that posts here:D Anyone found a way to get around it? afterhours 12-27-2004, 05:07 PM no big deal to install and remove, with a little practice it's quick and easy. justplugit 12-27-2004, 05:14 PM Whoa AH, your talkin to a guy with size 12 mits and no patience:D When you say "quick" how long do you mean to install:huh: Thanks,:) Dave afterhours 12-27-2004, 05:32 PM i can remove tailstock and toolrest, install dup re-install tailstock and adjust dup in under 5 min. justplugit 12-27-2004, 05:53 PM Thanks Afterhours, sounds like it's doable, even for me:) Jigman 12-27-2004, 08:37 PM Originally posted by MAC I did it on a delta. Pretty much the same machine. Only problem you might have is with the lock lever on top of tailstock Thats the problem I ran into on the Jet. Afterhours, anyway to leave the dup set up all the time and be able to turn from the front? Thats the part I had trouble with. Ended up just setting up the vega on the front of the Jet and use the Grizzly when I turn something by hand. Jigman justplugit 12-27-2004, 10:29 PM After listening, talking and consulting with mac, aftrehours, and jigman, as the tailstock lock on the back of the jet prevents the dup from goin on the back i will see if retapping, and placing the lock on the front will allow it. Thanks for all your help! Now all i gotta do is convince Late Santa i was good enough this year to give me a vega:) afterhours 12-28-2004, 07:19 AM Jigman, i don't see how it can be left on front with toolrest. i guess i've swithed back and forth so often that's it's now no big deal. i think that JPI is on the right track for rear mounting. Jigman 12-28-2004, 10:18 AM Thanks for the input. Figured it would take some tinkering to mount it full time on the back. No biggie, I'll just continue using the grizzly when I want to turn something by hand and leave the Vega mounted on the Jet. Jigman vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
