Imagine....the United States being stingy on foreign/emergency aid to the disaster in Asia?:af: Our country sends more aid money around the world than any other and we get slapped across the face like this?:smash: How fast do these jackasses think you are supposed to be able to mobilize the kind and size of the aid that will be required to make necessary impact over there?:confused: Are countries like Turkey, Kuwait, Iraq, France? doing their fair share.....we already send too goddamn much money to other countries just to help with the support of their friggin' infrastructure....let these other countries step up like the US does for cryin' out loud! Um, I don't know about you but the last thing I want is a bunch of people getting together and talking about me.........and I'm not in the room.

We have to remain part of the UN, just to ensure our own security, if for no other reason.

9/11 happens and the outcry from the rest of the world is welcomed with open arms.

A disaster happens elsewhere and Americans bitch about being asked for money.

We "the U.S. of A." are giving 35 Million to start,& If IM not mistakin the Friggin French coughed up a Whopping 128,000.Wow thanks guys! Who needs the French anyway?!?!


Now I think that this whole money thing is based on Earned Tax $$ we the U.S.A are as always on top with the most earned tax $$.
What this Guy @ the UN is gripping about is that he feels that we should give more $$.

Now I think that we are spreading our selfs way too thin & try in other methods to help these people.

I think that comment by that UN guy were out of control and slanted. What he said was that the US goverment only paid something like 0.4% of the GDP for aid. Which is greater than anyone elses.

The numbers are slanted because they did not include the charitable donations made by the US population which will end up tripling the entire amount donated by everyone else in the entire world.

I think the UN has a credible purpose, and this is a chance for it to shine, especially after getting caught with the Saddam thing. It's a pity that they are throwing norwegian rocks.

Well today listening to talk radio a whacko called in and said the reason for the earthquake and tidal waves causing all the deaths were on the shoulder of the United States and our demand for oil. The drilling for oil caused the devestation.....Anyone willing to bet what party this person would be affirmed with? LOL

It doesn't have anything to do w/ a party.....the guy is just a friggin knucklehead, thats all

Considering we dump 4bil in military support into Israel so they can blow up "terrorists" (read: people in wheelchairs), I think we can afford a few hundred mil to help out a bunch of people caught totally offguard by nature.
