the exact specs are:
.249"X 1.015" or less on the .24oz
.312"X 1.015" or less on the .39 oz
.373"X 1.013" or less on the .57 oz

these #s reflect the master model specs

but as CS said, give yourself extra room when you drill.

I might make a .187"x 1.00" tail weight real soon.It wont weigh much, but sometimes thats what u need.

Nope, turned it first, then drilled it. I figured if I blew it out, I'd toss it in the wood stove. Epoxied the weight in the needle, finished it and fished it. caught schoolies, nothing big on it, still holding together.

If you thru-drill it first, then use a sharp-n-proper sized brad point drill bit in a hand drill, you'll be surprised at how easily the bit nose follows the thruwire hole. Just don't apply too much pressure and take your time for the first half inch or so.

The only times I ever leave the square stock anymore, is if the plug tail has a taper whose diameter closely matches the lead weight. As long as there's at least a 1/16" to spare, and your bit is sharp, it's a cakewalk.

Sharp an propper bits??? Is that before or after i drop em on the floor. Sometimes when I come in on the tail with the ends on its a little off of center.How this happens I don't know but it happens....
