The small blue testor air compressors, are they any good? I got an airbrush for xmas and it comes w/ the cans of air and I see that you piss through those pretty quickly. I was thinking of picking one of these up to use instead. are they a waste of money or will they do the trick?
I have a badger 200 airbrush if that helps...pretty basic

I get mine out of the Salem News. Probably in any paper that carries their adds. Salems comes out every wednesday

Does it have a tank? or does it run all the time. tanks are nice cuz once they fill the compressor shuts off , it looks like it would run all the time.
40psi is plenty to paint plugs :D

I'm pretty sure it just runs. At $11 for a can of air this will pay for itself in no time.

Very true, you wont really need more than 20-25 psi for plugs. Maybe some other guys will chime in and let you know what range psi they're shooting paint at, Well except FishingFreak, I hear NASA makes his paint guns :hihi: To be a fly on the wall in his paint shop :humpty:

"minimum of noise"
oilless compressors are usually louder than reg. oil bathed compressors. Have you heard this run?
you may get sick of it running, but you could always add a tank later on I guess.

I have a little grizzly compressor. It doesn't have a tank, and it does run all the time....but its not too loud....I just turn up the TV :D

get an extra length of hose. it will act as kind of a tank. well not really a "tank", but it will even out the little "pulses"{minute'air presure fluctuations} that those small compresors are prone too.

I took a look at the Testors and it was pretty cheesy. Bit the bullet and got a badger model 80-2. What a night and day difference over those crappy aircans. It wasn't a bad price either.
Took the AC Moore coupon over to Micheals because they say they honor their competitors coupons. regularly $179 got it for $102 and got it up in NH where I saved the sale tax.
Nice little piece of equipment.
