Is it leagl to keep stripers as aquarium fish?

These were the most ill looking and seemingly starved fish I have ever seen. One in particular, stunned me. It was flat as a pancake; I could see its spine! I wondered how it lived and swam in such a wreched state."

No its not illegal to keep stripers in a tank.

I'm beginning to remember a thread for about a year ago. It was a discussion about getting baby bass for aquariums. I think it was that the hybrids were okay? But that a wild one caught from the ocean was illegal?

it is illigal to keep a wild striped bass alive. falls under high grading or culling laws.

hybrids are cross bred white bass with stripers, there freshwater fish.

You can keep hybrids and pure striped bass in an aquarium as long as there farm raised. You just need to keep the receipt to prove that they are farm raised.
