At the Freeport show in few days you will probably be able to get a sign copy from the man himself, for $5 or $6

Both issues, too---both of which are numbered "Volume One" :laughs:

But, but, Toby, that $86 was for a first edition :wall:

I'm trying to get as many surf/fishing books as I can signed because if I hopefully have a son one day, I feel it would be a special gift to leave him a series of old (by then) signed books.

If it wasnt for the snow, I was going to bring my three remaining unsigned books for him(Muller) to sign at the Nassau show, but I never made it. Guess I will try Freeport.

LOL . Sure its tempting to sell 'em all. Then I can go out ond put a nice down payment on a 4wheel drive. Took out the 4cylinder front wheel drive Escape yesterday. It couldnt even get over a 6" pile of snow.:(

Bill Muller has written a few books:

Surf fishing for Stripers and Blues
Secrets of Surf Fishing at Night
Surf Fishing with the Experts
Fishing for Weakfish and Sea Trout

Did I miss any?

All were great books.

Al Bentsen's chapters on how to rig an eel (fully illustrated in step-by-step detail), and how to fish a rigged eel, are worth the price alone ;)

The picture of surf121's friend's 64 pounder should put to rest a certain someone's contention that a bottle plug couldn't catch a bass in a hatchery after the workers were on strike for a month :D :laughs:

I was happy to see that too (the bottle plug shot). I've heard that plug being talked down a lot but I've seen quite a few photos of guys that have caught BIG fish on them

Ive been "monitoring" that book for almost a year and the best price I could find was over $100. A copy popped up recently for less money and I grabbed it. :)

I picked that book up several years ago at a on line used book seller for a very reasonable price. (15-20 bucks ) It is like new and almost perfect. Keep an eye out for it, they pop up on ebay now and again too.

My Freind Mark M's 64 was on a white bottle (full Moon). Worked with the fellow for five years and thought he only fished for trout.
Soft spoken humble guy and an excellent firefighter. He has what to brag about, but you would never hear it from him.
Good Luck,
Steve:)

Mark Malenofsky a good firefighter? Gonna rib him on this one:D Soft spoken? Man are you going to give me some good ammo.I must say, one of the most informed person I know when it comes to reading the water. Be it fresh water fly fishing or throwing plugs under the light at Montauk, they don't get any better. Please don't tell him I said this cause his head won't fit through the doorway.

WHy are Mullers books so valuable?? Ive noticed that just about all his titles go for $50-200:eek:

Crazy Alberto

Doc Muller’s books are limited runs and out of publication… but most importantly, he is one of the leading NE fishing authorities and his books are a wealth of viable information. :)

I think Secrets of Surf Fishing at Night is a must for anyone getting serious about surfcasting.Surf Fishing with Experts is an excellent "basic +" book. The author is a brilliant fisherman and a "student" of the game of fishing. You really cant go wrong with any of his books

Steve HC
01-27-2005, 08:11 PM
Yes,
Secrets of night fishing is a good book worth all of $11.95, not a cent more for tribute.
I dare anyone telling him he is a "student". When blue fish smile.
Steve:)
