View Full Version : jointed needlefish??? hunan 01-30-2005, 11:11 PM are they out there and i haven't seen them? if they are could i please see one? if not, why aren't they? seems like it would work. i'm a newbie to this whole plug thing so please be gentle. thanks. Nebe 01-30-2005, 11:16 PM I've seen a few customs, but no production ones.. IMO there arent any being made because a needlefish has no built in action, so there is no need for a joint. Also, a jointed needlefish would cast like a overcooked noodle. If you need one, make one or 10..... this is why we all build plugs. Jigman 01-30-2005, 11:24 PM I seem to remember bassmaster doing a few jointed needles a couple years back. Jigman hunan 01-30-2005, 11:43 PM i just saw slipknots thread on needlefish and some of those suckers were bent in half like a u that's what made me think if it. it's good to see not everyone goes to bed early! i really should get a job though. been laid off long enough. Slipknot 01-31-2005, 06:40 AM Me and bassmaster made a few, jointed plugs do not cast well. The way the real needlefish swim is why I use a single hook on the rear with tied bucktail. Needles also imitate sandeels, sometimes on the smaller needles I make I put a blade on the rear on a ball bearing swivel. It helps with some resistence since the plug is so small and you retrieve it so slow. Looks like their little tail. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
