Actually Toby, that's a good picture of me :p

I had been at the rail for 27 hours straight when that fish hit at sunrise on Wednesday morning - I think I'm going to save that one for when Bassmaster posts one of his "I'm Junk" threads.

Slingah - fight was awesome - about 30 minutes. Got her to the top twice only to see her power back to the bottom (130') finally got her to the gaff on the third attempt. The fish kicked my a$$ - despite the adrenaline rush I slept the entire 6 hour steam back to the dock :sleeps:

You MADMAN you :btu:

That must be one strong and powerful fish to take you back to the bottom twice

Good job.

My 60 came from Florida also, an amberjack on 20 lb line with a short boatrod on a wreck off Stuart a few years ago late April. Then I beat it with a 70 lb tarpon that kicked my butt down in the Keys.

How long did you stay there for a key west fishing? Damn man, you rock!

Did ya keep or release it? I know that you don't eat fish. ;)

Mouth is watering uncontrollably as I type this. Grouper are delicious. Garlic and basil marinade, grilled , yum yum.

Do yourself a favor and get a recipe for Grouper Oscar. I have it whenever I'm in Florida and it is awesome! Fantastic eating fish. Tremendous catch Gloucester!

G2-

Was that on the Tortugas multi day run? I found an old Sportfishing Magazine, or Salt Water Sportsman, one of them.... had a great article on those guys and that trip.

Looks like a great time, Congrats on a trophy catch!!!
