I am going nuts. I know that there is an adapter made that you can put on the top of a rattle can to adjust the spray. Does anyone know where to get it. I have Googled it, gone to auto parts stores, Lowes, Home Depot, local paint stores. No Luck!!! HELP!!

CS, U try any of those Krlon tops?

learned some good stuff about temperature (paint, plug, room, etc. also, how some paint will "fight" with another) this winter, makes for some cooool results, once you get to know what to expect.

Ok, I went to 2 WalMarts. No luck. They have a handle that goes on the top of the rattle cans but there is no adjustment of the spray diameter.

I have an airbrush but it's just easier to use the rattle cans for small batches of plugs. What the hell, I'm just makin' em for myself. Maybe 100 plugs a year.

A couple of my buddies from NY used to do some " painting " . They had all sorts of different tops....I'll try to find out where they got them.

Thanks. I am still going loony. I went to Home Depot. They have these little handles for cans but they just depress the button on the can. What I am looking for actually changes the diameter of the spray.

I KNOW this device exists. Just can't find it. I searched on Google for an hour with no results.

I have a Porta Cable compressor. I have 100 feet of air hose. I have several airbrush guns of vaious capacities. I don't want to set everything up to blow a little paint around some eyes on a Danny.

Thus the mad search for "The Device"

Here's how I'm fogging eyes....

I took some old scrap 1/8 fiberboard type stuff and cut out about 4 pieces that are 4 inches wide and maybe 8" long.

Then I took my different sized forstener bits and drilled a different sized hole a couple of inches in from the end of each one. To fog the eye you just pick a template witha hole a little biger than the eye, hold it next to the plug so that teh eye shows thru the hole, and spray away. The template catches most of the paint but the eye gets fogged nicely.

The other thing I have done is to use a circle template that I got at staples for a couple of bucks. Then I took a roll of duct tape and went over all the holes except for the one that is the size I needed.

I did my first eye shiners using rattle cans and a cheepo plastic drill bit index. Its basically a thin piece of plastic with different size holes punched in it. A few strips of masking tape over all the holes but the one you want to use and spray away. Keep the template away from the plug for a soft edge and close for a hard edge. It worked pretty good actually.

Just to be a PITA (its what I do best, just ask my wife).......Your 1st post was at 9:22 AM and this post was at 10:45 PM.

13 hours and 23 minutes have passed, you've been to Walmart and Home Depot.....and you still don't have the plugs done yet.

Wouldn't it have been quicker to just set-up the air brushes and Compresor to do it.

Don't tyake it personally....I'm just messin with ya

Yeah, I am an idiot. But you know what? The guys came through for me and I just ordered what I needed.
This is what makes this site so damn great. You can ask a question, get your b%$# busted and still get the answer.

Thanks to Diggin Jiggin, Flukinuki amd Bernzy for some great tips and for the site where I did find what I needed.

Of course, thanks to The Fisherman Dad for keeping me sane.
