View Full Version : I just joined...
the Vega club :smokin:
should be here next week :D
I know I said duplicators are for pussies, so i guess Im a puss..:D
I found one on sale too :hee:
My only worry is that it wont fit on my carbatech. It has a 6 inch swing between the center and the bed. would that be a problem?
BigFish 02-09-2005, 08:26 PM Pretty sure thats too small Eben...check with the MACster!;)
Should work. I think they fit lathes with a 6 to 10 inch swing. Do yourself a favor and invest in the diamond Vee cutter
yes, that cutter is on my wish list. I hope it fits, othersise, i'll put the Carbatech up in the classifieds and get a Jet. I'll be bummed if it doesnt fit though... I love my carbatech
Good for u man.ur really steppin up to the plate i would do things like tagger we talk about a plug on the site an he runs off a bunch an.ie: Bob hahns, lefty's, bottle an regular darta's an them howdiarena's.U'll have a full arsenal of weapons in no time.then ur head will start spinnin when u try to figure out ur startin lineup.Thats if u got any left after all the hoing.:D
Nib i figured if I got this, I could spend more time on the painting. I've got some winners from last season that I made and it seems to me the easiest thing to do is to dupe them instead of painstakingly turn them one by one with calipers. Plus on those Darters, the blank shape is so subtle, I have to do it this way.
Plus now I can chuck my bassmaster plugs right into the template holder instead of cutting them in half  (just kidding BM :D )

Here (http://tool-corral.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page82.html) and they are all on sale
I want a Vega Pro eventually too. The Delta is nice but not a Vega
tobias 02-10-2005, 12:22 PM This is the cheapest I've seen.
http://store.yahoo.com/toolsplus/veg-lathe-accessories.html
The 36" Vega Pro is at least $100 cheaper.
Krispy 02-10-2005, 12:33 PM I paid $450 from ToolsPlus 3 years ago for 36" Pro Vega
But, I dont think any other Dup. is worth buying once you've used the Vega.

Quick order the Diamond Vee cutter now. Then she won't be pissed twice. :laughs: :laughs:
l.i.fish.in.vt 02-10-2005, 10:33 PM Eben as a professional glass blower a duplicator will be tax deductable, don't you ever make duplicate pieces?
oh trust me, all my plugbuilding tools are purchased on the company card. Every glassblower has to make "models" :hihi:
MAC, your gonna get me in trouble !!:hidin:
Wow... thats all i can say. the Vega came today and i had a few minutes to play with it... i didnt have time to make any templates, but stuck one of my swimmer blanks on there, and in about a minute- poof a perfect replica-
I have one question since i have used it now..
do you guys use the tension spring? It seems awkward to me
man i am happy to get one of these

Yes on the tension spring but only light pressure. I like to be able to move the arm manually when turning. Wait till you get the diamond vee cutter, cuts 1/2" a pass if you want:D
yeah i want that cutter. gotta wait a few weeks though
spence 02-15-2005, 10:28 AM Eben, I'll be dropping off a bunch of AYC and some prototypes for you to copy :hihi:
