Do I need to scuff up or do any other prep work to put on a second coat of epoxy over the 1st one, or do I just lay it on as is?
Thanx

Thanx BigFish 03-01-2005, 09:30 AM I only use a single coat. The Dad Fisherman 03-01-2005, 09:36 AM I normally do only one but the 1st coat had a few flaws that I was thinking a second coat would take care of. Slipknot 03-01-2005, 09:39 AM It varies with the different manufaturers of epoxy, but generally, if it's within a day or so, then just apply it, more time between like 2 days or 3 then I would scuff it. I always scuff between but I take my time and never get the second coat within a day or so, so that is why I scuff. If I had the choice I'd recoat within 24 hours. ROCFISH 03-01-2005, 05:55 PM I like to litely sand with 800 grit. It helps take off any high spots as well as give a better bond, and its quick and easy.:D Backbeach Jake 03-01-2005, 06:13 PM As Slipknot does, if I'm gonna 2 coat, I try to get the second on within 24hours. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
