Bigfish suggestion on the pics. Your digital camera should have an option for taking pics of flowers. Should be a flower symbol. This will give you much better close up photos. It will be clear up close and the background will be out of focus. If you have a manual setting try using a low appature # such a 2.0 to 4.0. You will have to have better lighting to compensate.
