View Full Version : Need phone numbers...cell phone gone
BasicPatrick 04-11-2005, 10:20 PM Hey guys...
You see I was staying in the Windjammer Motel located just outside Island Beach State Park in Jersey this past weekend. The motel smells like and adult bookstore and has very few amenities but it is where the fishermen stay so we stayed there. I had to use my cell as an alarm as there are no clocks and the wake up call guy was not on duty this weekend. At 4 am the cell goes off and I start fumbling in the dark and making my way to the toilet....can you see it coming, yep....splash into the lieu goes the cell phone and goodbye to over 300 phone numbers. Buisiness, fishing, everyone gone.
So if I had your number or should have your number, please E-mail/pm me as I have to start entering tomorow night after the insurance company replaces my phone.
Go ahead...bring it on
thefishingfreak 04-11-2005, 10:23 PM take it to the phone store. sometimes they can get the memory out of it.
happened to me with a huge cup of coffe in the trucks center console.
phone was toast but memory was intact.
BasicPatrick 04-11-2005, 10:25 PM Was there today...they told me to keep the phone for a few days as it was going on and off on its own...if I get it on there is a chance but it seems worse today so I am starting the process of getting the list together.

Patrick,
How would you know what an adult book store smells like?
:hihi:
UserRemoved1 04-12-2005, 05:36 AM bet that fone looks like a piece of crap now? rut roooooo
Forget the thing if it is turning on and off right now it will be junk in 2 days. It's not the water that trashes it....it's the minerals in the water that trash it. I get radios like that all the time, I hate the people that don't tell you til after you worked on it that they dunked it in the crapper. nice.
Saltheart 04-12-2005, 08:07 AM When they first started selling insurance on cell phones , i asked the lady what kind of things were covered. She said everything and that surprisingly , the number one reason people put in claims for a new phone was dropping it in the toilet. number 1!!! She said one big problem was the belt clips. I guess when guys squat down onto the seat , the phone pops out of the clip and into the bowl!!
anyway , thought you would feel less of a dumb a$$ if you new it was a common event. :)

Fish On 04-12-2005, 01:56 PM Talk about flushing all your friends down the toilet....
Diamond Tackle 04-12-2005, 02:58 PM redunk it in distilled water then thoroughly dry it out((without the battery attached))
probably too late now though, u have to do it immediately after the initial dunking. I never did it myself, but i heard it works, could be bs though.
salt water, kiss it goodbye

Fish On 04-13-2005, 12:42 AM Took a wave over the bow and got some salt water splashed on my phone. Digital screen stopped working but the phone still functioned. A year later the screen started working on and off and now works full time and is just like new. Go figure....
I'd try the freshwater dunk and then hang on to it to see what happens. Good luck.
Gotofish 04-13-2005, 06:15 PM Just dunked mine 30 minutes ago going after a friggen $2 Rays Fly. Took it apart and now I can't get it back together again. Cheers to the Japenese people who build these things.....my sausage fingers just don't have the finesse!
ackblues 04-14-2005, 05:50 AM Is that when Wendy caught her keeper bass? :kewl:

Bouncer at an Adult Bookstore? This being a family site I won't ask about what was acceptable cause to bounce someone out and I assume the typical efficient bar bounce of left hand on hair pushing forward and down while right hand on belt lifting slightly and quickly moving towards door method was not available in this instance - especially the belt thing
(I do miss the opportunity to open the door with the bouncees head :hihi: )
BigFish 04-14-2005, 07:49 AM I bounced too...lets get together and exchange fun stories and experiences. ;)
