View Full Version : Boston Bars servin it up till 4a.m.
reelecstasy 04-28-2005, 09:58 AM Just heard on the radio this morning that Boston bars will be open until 4am in an effort to curb afterhours----partys. Where people charge people to get in their houses and serve drinks for $..The city is going to do this for a 2 week period to see how it goes. The boston Police are hoping it will cut down on the house partys as well as the disturbing the peace calls......
Well doesn't that make it a whole lot easier to do some stunt drinking :rollem:
Let's get it on :buds:
The first thing that popped into my head was, to bad the won't extend the train service, askin for trouble.......
Sounds like by the time they make it to the train they'll be there at just about the right time to start riding with the morning commuters. :rotf3:

I love it!
redlite 04-28-2005, 10:59 AM In the Globe it portrays it as only a proposal at this time and would only be as a pilot experiment for certain bars located in hotels. Of course, it is being faced with great opposition from some up-tight politicians with higher political ass-perations on their agenda by opposing it. Still needs to be voted on by the legislature before it can be enacted. One politician was quoted to the effect of "if people wanna drink in bars until 4 in the morning, then Boston is not the place for it. Go to NY".
This state sucks.
fishweewee 04-28-2005, 11:08 AM Great. I always thought it was lame that they would cut you off at 1 a.m.
I mean, New Year's Eve (first night my a$$), party would be over at 1.
RIJIMMY 04-28-2005, 11:26 AM I think its pretty dangerous, I mean if your in a bar at 4am, you HAVE to be wasted. Boston just stopped the nightowl bus service which used to drive the bar crowds home.
This just means a whle bunch more drunks, even more wasted, on the road. At least at a house party you can pass out on the floor and spend the night.
I guess Im gettin old....
piemma 04-28-2005, 11:33 AM That's why I quit Drinking, and drugs and sex and women and smoking and gambling and and and ....... I forgot....... :gu:
ThrowingTimber 04-28-2005, 11:37 AM china town serves "tea" waaaaaaaaaaay past 1am
being open til 4am will not mean everyone will be shellac'd, it means folks will leave the house later to go out thats all :laughs:
I need a listing of the places participating in this "trial" is the Rack participating in this "trial"?

ThrowingTimber 04-29-2005, 12:31 AM We'll need a party bus!!!! :rotf2:
redlite 04-29-2005, 12:19 PM We talked about it at my Alcoholics Are Us meeting last night and we all decided that it might actually cut down on how much we'd drink when we went out.
If you think about it, when you go out at 10 to a bar and know that last call is gonna be at 1:30, you're more apt to consume as much alcohol in that short period of time. How many times do you find yourself standing there at 1:29 with 2 drinks in your hand and pound them with the thought that this is your last chance to get 2 more at last call.?.
Now if you know that you have until 4 am, you are more inclined to drink in moderation. I would have a hard time staying awake until 4 in a bar anyhow, so I wouldn't be there until that late any how and wouldn't have that mentality of poundin em while I can.
ThrowingTimber 04-29-2005, 01:48 PM :crying: I missed the meeting I gotta call my sponsor :rotf2:
