I always wire-line jig for bass but the other day i heard someone say they use leadcore for jigging. Can you use leadcore using 4-6 oz. jigs.?

Next to eelin'; wire line jiggin is our bread and butter.
I suppose you could do it with lead core, but I'd be a little concerned about the durability and strength using lead core. My limited experience with it is it is fragile and the lead inside can break causing the weak link. With all the stretching and stress put on line with wire line, jiggin', I would think it would be prone to kink and break a lot more frequenter than wire, even with a roller tip.

I'd agree with mike, wire is more durable..
I havent trolled in a year or two, as I'd rather eel or jig bass on lighter tackle...

In a pinch leadcore can be used to jig, but wire is a better choice...

No problem to jig with lead core. Has some stetch so doesn't feel as tight. Great to give to the youngsters who haven't yet got the skills to let the wire out w/o a birds nest.
