Nasty, that looks like it is dug-in like an Alabama tick too. You need to be prepared for this kind of problem which happens more then you think. There was a photo a couple years ago I posted that came out of the newspaper and it showed a fly hook in a guys eye. He can still see fine today but that must have scared the ****out of the guy.
Beyond a first aid kit, I keep serious cutters on board and in the truck just incase a live bluefish is attached to one hook and the other is embedded in a body part.

Many years ago my old boss was in the boonies of Maine flyfishing by himself and got a fly stuck in his eyeball. He had to drive himself for an hour till he got to a real road and found a local woodbooger and asked him where the nearest doctor was. Drove for another half hour and had the thing taken out. Lost most of his vision in the eye. Imagine driving with a fly in your eye for an hour and a half. I can't stand an eyelash in my eye for a few seconds. P.M.

that was hard to imagine...
this is a bit off topic (BIG SORRY ) but it fits in with the previous tale told by P.M.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
there was this guy who stepped outside to see where the 22 rifle fire was coming from..
as it sounded a bit to close for comfort...
off in the distance he saw a couple of people and heard another pop...
the next thing he knows...
a 22 long rifle bullet hit him smack in the face right beside his nose...ok
well it went thru his face and broke his neck....
luckily he had a good head of hair....
which he grabbed with his right hand
and he stretched his neck straight up........
because his head had flopped sideways with the broken neck
with his left hand he shoved his pinky into the hole beside
his nose to stop the bleeding and he drove
with his knees to the nearest gas station not having
any form of phone... to use...
he pulls in and the attendant says to him..."need some gas?"
totally covered in blood ...he said " no you idiot..."
call 911 , and get me an ambulance >>>FAST!
he saved his own life that day...
