the squid is the same size and shape as the atom 40..was spinnin up a few atoms when I thought of rearrangin the back end.
the 2 pc..squid...back end is from a hard ta find vintage and I just added my own head an cut it//jointed.
the ballerina[my childhood go to plug] is made out of very old pine from exterior doors.
capesams 05-15-2005, 09:02 AM How did you get started building lures.. a history lesson
started carving shore birds an decoys when I was 14[long ago] then started bangin nail's after school..that turned into furniture/kitchen's/custom moulding/reproduction's of all kind's....then since I had all the tool's /wood know how//paint etc. I just switched over to building plug's as fun time..plus I've been fishin since 9 so I kinda know what works and what don't.
ps...been buidin rods since 73 an that got abit boring so that helped turn me on to plug's too,,something different.
BigFish 05-15-2005, 09:17 AM :jump:

Flaptail 05-15-2005, 08:05 PM  With all the fishing around who wants to make plugs? Get out and fish fer Cris'sakes! Today I was in my skiff on the "bay" and the water was 48 degrees. Know what? I killed them! Lots of sand eels and lots of squid. Fish up to 36 inches with some real big ones following them in. My trustee little compass really works well. I was the only boat to leave the dock first thing this morning and I couldn't see twenty feet. Found the bar okay and was handsomely rewarded. Didn't see another boat ( or much else for that matter) for two hours and on every cast. Was pretty damm cold and raw for while though. I luv May on C :bl: ape Cod Bay.
Karl F 05-15-2005, 08:10 PM Flap,, what was the Bud commercial a couple years ago??
True, True.....
