Here are a couple of swimmers and a some Howdy's. There are made from some 1.5" dowel stock from a home center. The wood is still a little grainey-not quite filled all the way. The paint is rustoleum rattle cans -- better control than the testor's.

I hope no one was out in that lightning last night. Last thing you need is a 9'-10' stick of graphite in your hands in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Here are a couple of fat head swimmers made from red cedar.

A couple of smaller swimmers made from AYC.

Anybody have a decent AYC source in Rhody? All I could find was some decking in 5/4". I'm looking for something thicker and clearer.

Nice plugs, the swimmers look great, and I love that sloped headed guy.... however looking at the Howdys - it constantly amazes me that people here feel the need to copy a board sponsor's product to the exact dimensions and go as far as to use the same name... I dont get it. Sorry for my rant, but some of you guys need to get more creative. Make the nose fatter to push more water, make it longer so it gets more attention by splashing more, something......... please!!! who knows, you could even make it better than bernzy and how proud would that make you feel??? :whackin:

Everyone learns from copying, but please dont copy a board sponsor. I know he would apreciate it.

getting back to the plugs- the swimmers look great :D when the mullet run kicks in in september, you will smoke the bass along RIs southern beaches.

I was in that lightning last night BTW... scared the crapola out of me and I hoofed it back to the buggy asap..... this weather is killin me :smash:

Rough night Eben,

From a learning curve standpoint myself included look at a plug and copy it just to get the basics down then expand from there into more original work. I found myself saying thats how I use my skew to get that shape.

On another thread Tattoo had the following to say on this subject " Nothing is "new", you can only improve on what is there, some do it better than others. Take it or leave it."

No harm meant here, I dont want to ruin my chances of getting one of your glass needlefish someday for my shop.

:hidin: yes rough night. To add to it i am in the worst no-fish rut of my fishing carreer. for the past day I have been taking care of a sick baby, a sick wife and my own bass-related illness :hihi:

Anyway, i am sticking to my story. While nothing is new, you can do variations on exhisting designs.

gldnbear93 and i have pmd eachother over this and he has decided to send me all of the howdy's as a token of grattitude for putting him back on the right path to plug enlightenment. In return, I will do nothing :D

The Caffinee buzz is wearing off, and I need a coke or pepsi to keep riding the tiger :hihi: Carry on :buds:
