View Full Version : What's under yer tree? JohnR 12-19-2001, 03:49 PM Anyone hopin' or expectin' anything "GOTTA HAVE FOR FISHIN'" under the tree for X-MAS? chris L 12-19-2001, 03:54 PM The only thing I know Im getting is cash from all family members willing to get me a gift . Then Im going to buy a lami 108 1L and have a custom rod built plus a reel to use on a different rod and how ever many plugs I can get with the left over cash . Got Stripers 12-19-2001, 04:32 PM Just some Bass Pro Gift certificates, but I really should start switching that to maybe something more geared for saltwater, or maybe lurecraft has gift certificates. My wife and I are holding back on spending for each other this year (just some token gifts) and opting for a long weekend away from the boys. Wanted: Very sturdy, strong willed, assertive baby sitter, preferrably X WWF profession wrestler. Must be good at putting out fires, keeping the brain dead teenagers that lurk around these parts from my door and especially my power tools, hearing impared not an issue since mind numbing rap crap plays at full volume and incessantly. Money not an issue or will trade rubba for services :). Saltheart 12-19-2001, 05:48 PM Maybe a pretty gold Japanese reel. :) TheSpecialist 12-19-2001, 06:16 PM I think a Berkley 50lb Digital scale. I hope a Grizzly Mini Lathe. Gs good luck with the baby sitter. Slipknot 12-19-2001, 06:27 PM I think GS could use some ear plugs in his stocking. Yikes. And to think, I thought having to listen to Britiney Spears occasionally was bad  I guess I'll set a rule in my house, NO RAP! I'd like to get a shiny set of chisels for um, woodworking, right. Clammer 12-19-2001, 09:16 PM :p THe same as g/s cutting back on us,and going to take a few days away ,anywere, no pager allowed,no baby sitter needed, well unless she wants to come toooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D AnthonyN 12-19-2001, 11:47 PM I think Santa is getting me a new pair of waders. But santa thinks i have way too much fishing stuff already so i am not expecting anything else fishing related. :( Fishpart 12-20-2001, 06:52 AM Not a lot for wife and I. I did spring for some smoothies a couple of weeks ago, but I won't wrap them. Family friends are all getting nice round boxes or bowls as part of their gift....... As for fishing gear while you can always use more I have what I need except............................................ ......................................:D JohnR 12-20-2001, 08:14 AM I think GS needs a respirator/breather too for when he's pouring his baits like the mad scientist "It Is Alive!!!" Note to TheBetterHalf, If I get a Lathe, I can make nice Wooden Soup Bowls to give to relatives at X-Mass :D :D My wife & I are taking it pretty easy this year too. If the ReFi was to go through before the holidays (it's not - too many people refinancing - go figure) so we'll take care of some family and of course, the drooler ;) :p Saltheart? The expensive Japanese gold or THE EXPENSIVE Japanese Gold?? Specialist - you'll like that Berkely Scale, I'm thinking of making that the goto device for the C&R Tourneys... Tattoo 12-20-2001, 08:16 AM Dear Santa, I would like a pink unicorn. Mike Tattoo 12-20-2001, 08:23 AM UM, and some majic BLOOOOOBERRY juice........ Saltheart 12-20-2001, 08:45 AM Its named after a city in India. Not the newest model just out though. Fishpart 12-20-2001, 09:08 AM Saltheart, do you mean Bangalore Torpedos all around???? The Iceman 6 12-20-2001, 09:55 AM Hopefully Santa breaks down and get's me Orvis Breathable waders, Bloooberry juice would be nice also! Ice schoolie monster 12-20-2001, 11:33 AM I was pretty good this year, so some of the following may find there way under my tree: VHS Radio w/weather bands...oh, got that for birthday dashmount compass binoculars 7'6" inshore extreme graphite rod shimano stradic 4000 subscription to "on the water" Can't believe its only a few days away. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. JohnR 12-20-2001, 01:01 PM I was pretty good this year, so some of the following may find there way under my tree Does that mean that the wife is pregnant? Hehehehe - just kidding... I thought you would say that you were worried how a 20' Center Console is going to fit under the tree... Speaking of 20' CCs - I'm planning on bringing Liam to his first boatshow in Prov Jan10. He's dying to check out the new 4 strokes. You interested? I also think my wife could tolerate your wife & daughter (or she could come) while we're at the show... Whaddaya think? Or maybe, all 6 of us go :D   :p Its named after a city in India Kashmir Reels?? Mike P 12-20-2001, 01:25 PM It's probably going to be a joint present for me and the bride, but it won't fit under the tree. If I'm really lucky, I'll get to use it on weekends and a couple of nights a week after work. That will likely put a big dent in what will actually be under the tree ;) But Santa left an early gift, new custom XRA 1204. Man, I love that rod. JohnR 12-20-2001, 01:45 PM Boat or SUV - Which is it, eh? I wonder what you know who is getting from you know who, Amtrak 12 ride pass? Mike P 12-20-2001, 08:45 PM We're swapping the small Cherokee for a slightly bigger Grand. Stealthy dark blue instead of bright red---a little less obvious in some of the tighter spots in these parts. The only saving grace with the other one was----fully 40% of the Cherokees on LI are red ;) C'mon---you don't want him complaining that we're talking behind his back, do ya'? 179 12-21-2001, 11:28 AM I asked Santa for one of those fancy tackle bags for the boat, something with zippers that won't rust out on me.....LOL schoolie monster 12-21-2001, 01:04 PM That's a negative on the "with child" thing. Thought she was, but not yet. My behavior was good... as always. I might be interested in the boat show. Pretty fun to check out all the vessels I might buy if I won the lottery. Can't and won't speak for Karen. We'll converse when I get back after the holidays. Have a great Christmas with Liam! Next year it starts getting fun. At two years old, they get it. Britta woke up Christmas morning (when she was 2) and said,"did he come?" We checked the milk and cookies to see that he had stopped by and had a snack. Honestly, its like being a kid again... seeing your kids face on Christmas morning. chris L 12-21-2001, 02:14 PM Dont forget the carrot for Rudy ! Swimmer 12-21-2001, 10:03 PM I have been asking for a generator for years, years, to no avail. A ragbag flea s.o.b. creates terror in he world and now my wife thinks a generator is the perfect gif for each other for Christmas. So we gots a generator for each other. N kidding. She doesn't realize how easy they are to transport and how useful the Honda generator will be. I'll bet no elses wife on this list wanted a generator for Christmas. It is better to have fished and lost than never to have fished at all. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
