I did some tinkering.... This is a Berkley power eel rigged kind of like a steve mckenna eel.. I have a bunch of sluggos rigged this way, but wanted something sexier... Something that actually swam with a wiggle... not twitched and jerked like traditional sluggos.
what do you guys think???

notaro, its a berkley power eel, a 5/0 gamakaksu live bait hook on the tail, and a jighead with a swimplate on it.. the internal rigging is 50 lb dacron doubled up on itsself and tied to the tail hook twice (in case clammers friends show up) the dacron is tied off along the shank of the jighead, which has teeth to grab the soft plastic, but in this case its perfect for tyeing off the dacron... I also cut about a 1/4 inch off the eels snout so it would fit over the jighead better.

I had some great success with real rigged eels last night so I am on a rigging kick..

nothing works as good as real eels. last night I was using a real rigged eel, but it fell apart on my after the 1st 20 lber.... i think with the plastic ones, you can keep them on you as a last resort type of thing when you run out of the real eels...
