View Full Version : Swim Or Sink? What Do You Think?
BigFish 06-09-2005, 04:44 PM Playing in the shop today with an idea I had.....this is one of my popper bodies outfitted with a metal lip! She is going for a swim tomorrow and I am wondering what some of you think it will do? Will it swim? Or will it sink? Any guesses?
BigFish 06-09-2005, 04:45 PM One more....
afterhours 06-09-2005, 04:48 PM i think that it will wiggle and gurgle just under surface.
BigFish 06-09-2005, 04:51 PM My only thought Don is that the top lip might resist too much and kill it? Most swimmers have the water flowing over a more aerodynamic (rounded) head......I guess I will find out and let you know tomorrow.
Backbeach Jake 06-09-2005, 10:06 PM I agree : I think it'll blow sub-surface bubbles and catch! Looks like a real noise maker. HEREFISHYFISHY!!
bassmaster 06-09-2005, 11:16 PM its going to roll out
BigFish 06-10-2005, 06:12 AM Thats what I think BM but I will find out today.....just an idea I had to try!
BigFish 06-10-2005, 06:05 PM She swims unbelieveable! Just like a deep diving crank bait......nose down a little, arse up.....with the tightest wiggle I have ever seen in a plug....and depending on retrieve speed.....it goes deep! Gonna have to make a few and fish them! :kewl:
bassmaster 06-10-2005, 07:15 PM wow i thought it would roll out, guess ya never know.
nice plug nice to see sumtin diff
BigFish 06-10-2005, 08:17 PM Thanks BM! You would like it......no roll at all...very tight wiggle.
bassmaster 06-10-2005, 08:40 PM yes i would:) I had a school of jumbo bass behind me in 1 foot of water, was a trip.
im inlove with a new plug I got made by lab 1 and im messing it up on bass:)
P.S. at 205 pm was U between 10 and 11 i think tuesday?
nice plug nice to see sumtin diff
I agree.. the plug looks very unique :D
I did think of it first though :hihi: just kidding :D
BigFish 06-10-2005, 09:07 PM It might have been a little later but yes...it was Tuesday! Man can I get thru BM town ever without you seeing me? :bl:
Raven 06-11-2005, 04:49 AM My only thought Don is that the top lip might resist too much and kill it? Most swimmers have the water flowing over a more aerodynamic (rounded) head......I guess I will find out and let you know tomorrow.
bigfish i believe you meant to say hydrodynamic unless your fishing for flying fish....that is...:bo:
BigFish 06-11-2005, 09:53 AM Sorry Raven yes....no wonder it would not fly! :bl:
riverrat2 06-11-2005, 02:20 PM That plug is killer. Can't wait to see it with paint!
Raven 06-11-2005, 06:39 PM on second thought........ BIGFISH.....
i was wrong....
as its both........or half and half... technically
aerodynamics on the cast as it flies through the air
hydrodynamics on the retrieve as its pulled through the water. :btu:
can't help it : i'm always rethinking ideas.... i am a thinker...
nice design i forgot to mention,,,before
very inovative of you...
BigFish 06-11-2005, 06:41 PM Thanks Raven...it is more hydrodynamic than aerodynamic to be sure!
bassmaster 06-15-2005, 10:31 PM i want to see that plug swim, i seen your jointed plug swim bruce had and it looked jucy
