Hello.

I found a place that produces good size schoolies each cast. This happens 2hrs before high to 2hrs after high. Is this a hole as some people call it? Or just a lucky cast? I have people fishing to the left, and right of me. Casting the same distance,etc....not catching as many fish as me. Same bait is being used too. Will this hole produce at any tide? Or just before/after high? I'm just looking for information.

When this happens to me I usually attribute it to skill. :bl:
That is a great siuation to learn, Is there a hole in front of you or something the water runs over, a rock maybe. how close are the other fisherman? There are lots of questions and if you figure out some of the answers you will be ahead of the game.

snorkle it at low tide.... then you will know what you are casting at.

Just wait till the dead low tide and you should see what is there.

The other fisherman have been as close as 5' on either side.

At low tide it doesn't really show much. I'm casting a pretty good distance.
I myself know of somethings out in the water, but not where I'm casting. Let's say I believe there is structure out there. I'm going to try my luck at other times during the tides. I want to see if this area holds fish all the time.

Well, I tried this spot at different times/tides. It only produces 2hrs before high 2hrs after.

Well you'll just have to take me there and I will give you my honest opini :bl: on as to what is exactly going on in this particular spot. :bl:

Bein all things are the same, move over 20ft, your spot wil quickly be taken and see what happens.:D You'll soon see if it's your skill or a honey hole.:D

I can think of worse situations to be in. But through experimentation, you can fiure out exactly what is happening.

I always seem to be experimenting with the "I can't catch fish and everyone else is...I'll keep experimenting until I start catch fish." It sure would be nice to be catching and trying to figure out why instead of not catching and trying to figure it out... :crying:

I have tried fishing 20' over, and I catch fish. Just not a fish each cast. The good thing is NO ONE fishes my spot. Well, they try, but it doesn't work for them. This is cool :jump:

UPDATE ON MY SPOT:

It's still producing fish each cast, but no keepers. I will mark this hole as a schoolie spot. I will try my other holes now.

You can actually stand on the beach and make accurate enough long distance casts so as to differentiate between the guy 5' from you, or 20' for that matter.

If so I'll call it skill.

try using something that is made to catch bigger fish (big bait=big fish).
