...JUST PASSING ALONG THE LESSON I LEARNED OVER THE HOLIDAYS......

....I had placed an order with Etronics for a digital camera ( my gift from my honey!! )

this is my email to them:

__________________________________________________ __

....BOO!!!!!! I AM INCREDIBLY DISPLEASED WITH YOUR COMPANY!!!......WHEN I LOOKED INTO PLACING AN ORDER, ONE OF MY FIRST REQUIREMENTS WAS THAT IT WAS IN STOCK. AND ON THAT DAY, I WAS MADE TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS, HOW? WHY? - BECAUSE I CALLED UP AND ASKED!!! AND SO TO HAVE IT BEFORE NEW YEARS DAY, I CHOSE THE NEXT DAY DELIVERY. TODAY IS THE 28TH OF DECEMBER, ON THE 27TH ( YESTERDAY ) I EMAILED THEM AND THEY REPLIED SAYING IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHIPPED ON THE 26TH, WELL IT NEVER CAME, AND I NEVER GOT NOTIFIED.....I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, AND WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY, AND THAT THEY WOULD BE ORDERING MORE....I THEN SAID ..." HOW ? ..ITS A DISCONTINUED ITEM!!! "........I AM VERY UPSET.
ETRONICS USES VERY POOR ADVERTISING TECHNIQUES....YOU SHOULD NOT ADVERTISE ITEMS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE, AND NEVER TELL SOMEONE OVER THE PHONE THAT ITS IN STOCK!!! WHEN IN FACT..YOU HAVE NONE!!
...IF IT WASN'T FOR ME CALLING ETRONICS TODAY, I'D STILL BE WAITING FOR MY NEW YEARS EVE CAMERA.......

FORGIVE ME, BUT I WILL RELATE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL AND EVERYONE I KNOW......AND POST IT ON EVERY SITE THAT I'M A MEMBER OF OR VISIT.....WHEN SPEAKING TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE ..THEY SHOWED ME NO REMORSE....NO WAY TO MAKE IT UP TO ME......SHAME ON THEM FOR NOT HAVING PROPER " CUSTOMER ETIQUETTE " ....GOODBYE.

....so now, here I sit.....Giftless!!! No Lathe :( No Camera :( ...

boo hoo....boo hoo....I'm bawling my eyes out......Pisssst, ax-ually!!
..back to the "drawing board"...:D...

...I don't mean to be a Scrooge and I hope JohnR doesn't mind me trash talkin them, but I was all excited!~!....and now.....BAH HUM BUG!!....just wanted anyone else, who hasn't dealt with Etronics or hasn't ordered much on-line to
NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP ..until its in your hands ...;)

...cheer me up, send me some plugs ...will ya :D:D

Bloo, it's perfectly OK to vent here. Consider this like a mini-therapy session.

I had a similar problem when I ordered a Camcorder last year from a different company. I ordered the unit at a great price 2 weeks before my son was born hoping that I would have it operable before the big day (no, I wasn't going to videotape THAT!). Unfortunately, after many times being told that the unit was already shipped - but unable to get a valid tracking number - I spent many hours on the phone with them until I was finally able to get the story correct. It basically boiled down to an error in the shipping address -v- address on cc card that they would call my wife's work (she was already on maternity leave) even though they had all of my contact information. Was a major case of one hand not knowing what the other hand was doing or just simply lying about it. Weeks had gone by before they paid enough attention to my needs as a consumer and track down the problem.

While I finally got the camcorder a week after he was born, I was very unhappy with their service and told those that were looking for the same type of cam NOT to go through this company (can't remember the name at this time)....

You did get your dinero back, right?

Some companies can't charge your CC fast enough after an order. Some better companies will wait until your purchase is ready to ship and they will tell you promptly and courteously if there is a problem.

FYI - By Federal law (FTC) a company can't charge your card until the product is shipped or will be shipped with in 24 hours. This is to protect the consumer from just such problems as described above. Most of the major mail-order companies (on and off line) abide by this. But some don't and that gives the rest a bad reputation by association. :(
