How did everyone do last night. Northeast winds last year and this year my partner bailed at 11:30pm last night-sick kid at home. Still managed some fish but no entry due to being alone.

Boat guys were doing well a half dozen casts away... Nebe 06-19-2005, 11:30 AM one 9 inch bloofish, which hung my plug on my waders... :smash: Fishpart 06-19-2005, 11:35 AM One $*(%( bloofish and a couple bumps on a home made darter and a cast off plug trying to get just past the last bump ((%*%(%(*. Got yelled at for letting the bloo go.... No holes though :D DRUMCORPFAN 06-19-2005, 01:03 PM got one striper, but well under 40" min. for the leg. fishaholic18 06-19-2005, 01:49 PM 1 small bass and 1 small blue. Good time though, nice seeing you guys. ThrowingTimber 06-19-2005, 03:45 PM dinks last night :jump1: fishaholic18 06-19-2005, 04:18 PM Yeah, the tides weren't what I considered prime last night, the moon was bright as a bastard and the wind just plain sucked. But we gave it a fighting try and came up short. Oh well, that's fishin' I guess. I think this coming week with better tides, things will change. Got a new spot I want to check out... ;) JohnR 06-19-2005, 04:45 PM got one striper, but well under 40" min. for the leg. The year long is 40" and the C&R $ Leg is 36" .... Things seemed bassy last night, wish the wind was 50 degrees south In The Surf 06-19-2005, 08:41 PM Caught 4 stripers, all barely keeper size. RIROCKHOUND 06-20-2005, 07:17 AM Forgot about the leg this weekend :smash: Sat AM banged small keepers (in a skiff) so they dont count Sat. late night barely escaped skunkage with a dink and a just short... course they hit as a double so I thought I had sometin' better... piemma 06-20-2005, 07:46 AM I feel like I am alone at the rim of the sea. For all you newbies. 40 years experience. Skunked for 10 days straight. I have fished the midnight/early morning tides everynight and my last decent fish (15#) was June 11. It doesn't matter how much you know. There is a certain amount of luck in finding fish when it get like it has been. RIROCKHOUND and I have been West, East and in the Middle grounds and haven't found decent fish in the surf for over a week. Bryan has found fish in his boat but not from the suds. redcrbbr 06-20-2005, 08:23 AM had to change plans(easy access) because Katie sprained her ankle. went to one spot, place was loaded with people. went to another spot fished for a bit got torn up by small blues and called it a night. Katies ankle is much better ;) redlite 06-20-2005, 08:41 AM As the night wore on, I found myself all by myself. Managed 2 small blues right off the bat, then nothing through several spots until I manged 1 bass about 24 inches (first RI bass of the year) and a blue fish that was so small that I couldn't even measure it at day break. Was about 8 inches long on teaser. The wind and tides definately were unfavorable. I even resorted to chum and chunkin with freah pogies for a bit. Nothing. I'm stayin home from now on. Goose 06-20-2005, 08:08 PM We did it all fresh chunks, eels plugs.....just like the season this far nada in the suds. RIROCKHOUND 06-21-2005, 02:48 PM We did it all fresh chunks, eels plugs.....just like the season this far nada in the suds. Definetly an off year.... piemma 06-21-2005, 03:26 PM Come on you guys. You are all spoiled. This year you just gotta work a little harder for your fish. I admit to being skunked more than usual but it's not the kill. It's the thrill of the hunt. I still get excited about hitting a spot I haven't fished in a week with a new plug or some fresh eels. Let's not make this into a JOB. It is suppose to be fun. Watch the sky, the waves, whatever. You never know when you are going to have some illness that will prevent you from being on the beach. Savor everytime you go as if it's your last. reelecstasy 06-21-2005, 03:32 PM Savor everytime you go as if it's your last. Exactly, I try to remember that..I know I appreciate everything about it while I am out there... RIROCKHOUND 06-21-2005, 03:48 PM "Come on you guys. You are all spoiled. As an aside, I'm not getting in your boat again if you insist on wearing that multi-colored face paint ala Braveheart. -spence piemma 06-22-2005, 05:34 AM I wasnt complaining... just observing.... you're getting mellow in your old age :D :D[/QUOTE] Funny.
