View Full Version : Cod Trip, Try 2
JohnR 01-01-2002, 08:19 PM Swede brought up a good point, holidays are over, we're going to need another cod trip, maybe get 5 miles out before turning around http://www.striped-bass.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/puke2.gif...
Who's interested in try #2? I promise I won't make any weather predictions
:smash:
TheSpecialist 01-01-2002, 10:24 PM I might be.
Billyboy 01-02-2002, 05:39 AM Where and When, I'll go if I'm off of work. Name the date
Got Stripers 01-02-2002, 08:34 AM I'd be game for another shot, this time I'll bring my foul weather pants just in case. Last time I didn't and I'm glad we turned around, because I'd have been soaked to the skin in short order.
Striper1 01-02-2002, 05:03 PM John pls. count me in !
The small trout I'm getting at Long pond (plymouth) just don't cut it like a cod or striper.
If we can get out there We should be into large cod !
Anyone know what boats are still going out ?
There must have been a payoff for no pics from the last "trip"
well BM can we see them?
Bring on the waves

JohnR 01-02-2002, 06:38 PM Well, if it's on a Sunday, it'll have to be after the SuperBowl - Can you say Jumbalaya?
Hey what are the money people in the city of Lost Wages giving for odds now?

Billyboy 01-09-2002, 03:24 PM Are there any opening or is the crew from the first trip all booked already. If there are openings let me know, I'm interested now that hunting season is almost over

I would love to give it another shot but as my "snowmobiling weekends" are already filling my calendar it would depend on the date of the trip.

Hello Chubsdad do you know if andy lynn still has boats in the water?
GO PATS!!!
JohnR 01-12-2002, 09:09 AM ChubsDad - I'll give you a call this weekend....
AnthonyN 01-12-2002, 02:49 PM As long as its on the weekend you can count me in as well.
I have never done any cod fishing before so it should be an experince! I know to dress warm and stuff but i may bring my own gear I have a penn 320GTI and a boat rod just cruious what pound test I need. A friend told me the gear you rent is junk so i don't want to have something where it decides to fail as I am bringing up a 30lb cod :D :D If they boat has decent gear i'll leave mine at home. I also have a 10 or 12oz diamond jig I bought for a Cod trip years ago will that work? I didn't get to make it on that one since i was deathly sick :( .
Just give an update with the price and location
Canalratt1 01-13-2002, 02:54 PM I can probably make it and will have a supply of cod jigs with me. Unless its dead calm you'll need a minimum of 20 ozs. on the jigs. The later in Feb. the better as even into March the fishing tends to get better. Right now it appears to be slow as the weather is putting a pounding on the trips.
JohnR 01-14-2002, 09:02 AM OK - how does late Feb sound? What do we have for holidays or weekends in Feb?
Chubsdad - I'll call you tonight or Wed...
