It looks like it's fresh out of a Gibbs package - it's even missing the hooks ;) - ( just kidding guys :smash: :laughs: :humpty: - just passing some winter doldrums here... no nastygrams please)

Seriously - that's pretty nice, how and where did you add the weights...

Man, you're like a runaway train. Tell me, do you come home from work and throw your coat on a chair and race down the cellar stairs like a mad scientist? lol Very nice work. Are those markings done with permanent marker? I found something out when I was doing the plugs for the swap. I signed my name on the bottom before I envirotexed the plug. After a few minutes the signature began to move around and flow with the envirotex. It didn't ruin it but distorted it quite a bit. It looked pretty cool almost gothic style printing and something I could never get to come out like that again. I guess the point I'm making is envirotex may make your markings run together or melt a little bit. Maybe you should try a little paint and markings on a test dowel and envirotex it to see if it runs before you do that plug and possibly get undesirable results. If it does run the markings a simple way to cure this is to spray one coat of clear lacquer or enamel over the plug to seal the markings underneath. Then proceed with the envirotex. Make sure you stay with the same type paint you painted the plug with. If you used lacquer color use lacquer clear, etc. good luck, don't hesitate to ask questions. ...mrpogie

Mr. Pogie you been spying on me?:D Yup I come home from work and rush to the basement. I did use a sharpie for the lines. I may not envirotex this one. I might test it first and see how she swims. I put the weight behind the mid hook and in a line down to the rear hook. I wonder if I could use Testa model paint and just paint the stripe by hand, or use the paint from the spray can and hand brush them. I wish I had a scale so I knew how much this thing weighs. For the weights I improvised, I had no buck shot on hand. I cut some .38 wadcutters into lengths to fit the cavities. It is about a1/2" shorter than the original and seems a little lighter. I will have to compare it when I add the hardware. I might just pick up a clear coat tomorrow, so I can envirotex it.

John H I have seen your plugs and they blow mine away. Thanks for the compliment though. I appreciate it.

Specialist:

What name/number and brand is the green paint you used? If you can see it in the attached picture, the green on the little neck popper is too dark but I haven't found a lighter green in the right shade.

Yours looks like the perfect green.

Bob it's Painters touch by Rustoleum. It is the only color I boughtwithout a sticker saying thecolor code number. I got it at Home Depot. I think it was the only green in this brand. Hope it helps.

Mr Pogie put clear laquer 2 coats, then I envirotexed. No runs it works, you are a genious. From now on I will paint details like that with a brush and paint.

Specialist, there are some fine details that would be hard to do with paint and a brush. Markers are OK to use as long as you clear over them. One thing I failed to mention was after I put clear over the graphics on the plug I let it dry good and scuff the plug down with a scuff pad. I use 3M gray scuff pads and I don't go crazy but just take the shine off the plug. I feel it gives the envirotex something to bite into. I have a bunch of plugs that were done without scuffing and they holdup fine. It's just something I started doing while trying to refine my system for best possible results. The more options you have the better off you're going to be. ...mrpogie

Bloo it was a Sony digital. I bought it for my wife for xmas, and we are still learning how to use it. I think I had the settings wrong. :smash: It really is a nice little camera, it can make mini movies and stuff. I just have had no time to play with it since I started my new addiction.:D

GB unfortunately I won't be making the show. I was just talking to my wife yesterday about the need for an airbrush. I have been painting in the basement, windows open, and the fumes are still wafting upstairs. I sure would love the airbrush, once I get a little better at this plug thing I could hook you up. I will pm you my phone number and maybe we can get together thanks. Here are three of my first, I had help on two of the paint jobs.

To bad can't get to the show. Plugs look great for your first ones now will they catch?? I took a walk down to my shop to look for airbrush and pulled it out still just as new as when I got it. We will have to hook up some how to get it to you. I had a great little paint box that I built but it whent out with the trash one day that I was cleaning up but I'm sure you could build one it helps to keep the over spray down.
