Looking for some input for a replacement reel. I have a 8' Tica that I have been using to lob eels with this year. I was using Nautil 6500 GV that paired up with it very nicely.... but just had to take it into the shop for repairs. It has some age and a lot of use.... so it may beyond help. I liked it because it was lightweight, the drag worked great and I never had any issues using braid. Outside of buying the same reel again, can anyone reccomend a suitable replacement that will not set me back to much $$$? Thanks for your help!

Shimano Spheros 6000 or 8000.I've used the 8000 on my 8' Tica hard for the last 2 years.$100 even with shipping I paid for mine.Best reel in its price range IMO.
PS.Kinda surprised you're slingin' eels with such a light setup.Could get a little scary if you hook up with something big.I hooked up with a 24lber last year on my 8' Tica and that was about the limit for that rod.It was fun though!
