I am going to York, Maine this weekend and was hoping for any information on locations, tides and lures. I hear the fishing hasn't been that good recently and wanted to improve my chances while I am there. I will be wading and am willing to drive short distances from York to find fish. What are the size limits this year? Does Maine still have a Slot limit? Any info would be a great help. Thanks.

The size Limits are 20" to 26" inches and I think 30" and above you might want to check on the 30" inch limit

Hey Topwater, welcome aboard....

The Maine slot limit for this year is now one fish between 20-26 OR 1 fish over 40"... No "and" slot this year.... My Maine fishing is more up in the Saco/Camp Ellis area and the last time was a month ago... If you are going with poppers, or just about any lure, make sure you use a teaser/dropper like a small bucktail or fly as this tradditionaly works great up there...

Thanks for the info. I'll get my keeper before September on MV. Last September, I stopped in York and had 20 fish in the pouring rain off the rocks near the lighthouse in about an hour. I am still looking for other places to fish near there because my mother-in-law is now living up there and we will be making frequent visits. I agree with you John about the teasers. I started using them this year and my catch ratio has gone up. They sometimes work better than the main lure, and you can't beat those doubles.
