I'll be staying in E Dennis the 16th-23rd of July with my family (and another) and have a few questions about the area. I'm very familiar with the Truro/PTown area but have never fished the Bay side in the E Dennis area.

I will have my 18' Grady on a trailer and we'll be close to Sesuit harbor for launching.

I have questions regarding three types of fishing that I'll be doing during the week (or at least hope to). Because both families have small kids, most will be from the beach ( I think Chapin & Corporation are the closest). I expect a limited number of near shore boat trips, maybe Barnstable harbor, with the boys (4yrs old), and 2-3 "serious" trips with the other Dad, likely in the early morning launching from Sesuit.

Questions are:
1. Given the family beaching, I will likely be fishing bait from the beach and assume sand eels are the choice as in PTown. Can they be raked in this area or am I best off buying them? Any other bait used here?
2. For near shore trips with the boys, are there good fluke areas nearby? Any particular areas to check out? I realize Billingsgate is nearby, but our boys may not be up for it.
3. For the "serious" trips I am assuming it is Billingsgate for bass. I have a wire outfit, but am also thinking of T&W or drifting live eels or sand eels. Any other ideas? I could run to the Race weather permitting, but given our time constraints would prefer not to go that far.

Thanks for your help...

Josh
