I don't care if we won a World Series with him, he drives me nuts!!! Last night playing second place Baltimore Manny, Edgar, Varitek, and Damon are not in lineup. I understand if Damon sat out because his shoulder was bothering him a little bit but there is no reason why 3 of our best players were not in the lineup. Is it just me or were some of you guys confused and disgusted?

I know what you mean about Francona, what did he ever do for us....Oh Yeah HE GOT US OUR 1ST WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP IN 86 YEARS...and made the Yankees the BIGGEST GOAT IN BASEBALL HISTORY in the process.

Oh Yeah...and The Red Sox are IN 1ST PLACE...and he did it without Schilling and with Foulke s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g wind. Cut the guy some slack will ya. there isn't a single manager that hasn't done something questionable during the year. Until he pinch hits Belhorn for Ortiz he's OK by me.

Guys we don't have to be bitter Sox fans anymore.

By the way...They came out tonight and smacked the orioles all over the place

I agree!!! cut the guy some slack, 1/2 the pitching staff from last year
No Pedro, Schilling, Lowe!!!
Their best pitcher is Wakefield!!! :gf:

If you guys are getting on the Sox likie this after winning the series last year for the 1st time in 86 years, :btu: :btu:
i can only imagine what will happen when the Raiders beat the snott out of the Patriots in the 1st game of the football season and the pats never recover finishing in last place in the afc east!!!

Francona, the sox won in spite of him.
Pedro, Manny, Ortiz,Schilling, and company carried the sox.
How about the brilliant move Theo made dumping Nomar, and the pick up of Cabrera?
I was sorry to see him go he is a better fielder then Edgar.

he is a better fielder then Edgar. My grandmother is a better fielder then Edgar. Theo and the boys really tried to "sell" Edgar to us when he came here, but I never bought it. Cabrera would have been a better move - given the money.

Cabrera would have been a better move - given the money.
$6M Cabrera gets you .243 BA 22 RBI and 4 E's
$8M Renteria gets you .279 BA 30 RBi and 16 E's

Thoughts:They are in 1st even though they have had health issues. At least Nixon had the stone sto admit he screwed up (even if he was really safe).

I agree with the Thursday line up gripe but...who would you rather have as a manager for this team right now?

How come when the Sox lose (i.e. Grady Little) its the Managers Fault but when they win its in "Spite" of the manager. Give the guy some credit, he took them where no one else has in the past 86 years.

When the dust settles at the end of the season, if the sox don't make the play-offs, then rip away. I just don't see how you can rip a guy apart for having his team in 1st place at the all-star break.

Don't forget too that he did this while playing the most games on the road of any MLB team in the 1st half.

I know every time I see a Yankee highlite they are at home. Seems we have been on the road all year. Paul

Well it's monday morning and Francona still SUCKS.
What was that bonehead move leting Cora hit with the bases loaded against Rivera,Cora is batting 199?
I could go on and on. :behead:

What was that bonehead move leting Cora hit with the bases loaded against Rivera,Cora is batting 199? There is no one else toplay second base if you pinch hit for Cora. That was what I heard Francona say afterwards.

Here's my take on the Red Sox.....the real problem lies in their ego-ccentric GM.....he got all the praise last year for geting lucky IMO.....I have never thought that highly of Epstein.....but it is really just a gut reaction for me.....

What the heck is he worried about a second baseman for,you have to tie it first?
It should have been a walk off win.The man coaches scared.

Homerun04

The man coaches scared. I don't think he coaches scared as much as he cares way too much about his player's feelings.......he coaches in a way that makes sure his players aren't pissed at him.

However, all that does is make the players even more head strong, and we are starting to see the ramifications of that right now.....Meuller says he will not play second, Millar was pissed off when Olerud came to town, Payton said play me or trade me, etc. etc. etc.

Inmates are running the asylum at Fenway.
