have any player come back and play for the Patriots who would it be, and which player do you think was their biggest loss?

I would like to see Ben Coates, and Curtis Martin back in Pats uniforms.

Even though Antoine Smith is having a stellar year, I think the biggest loss for the Pats was letting Curtis go to the Jets.

You read mt mind to the T.
I think the next to go will be Glenn. He just doesn't play well with others.

Ditto on Martin. Parcels was no fool, he took some good players when he left.

I was reminded of someone else today - Sam Gash.
Terry Allen didn't look bad either, I guess he's still got it.

Parcells got the Jets in salary cap trouble for a while with his win it now theory that crashed when Vinny went down.

John Hannah... Barely remember seeing him play but I had seen some old tapes... Andre Tippet?

How about putting Grogan's heart and mind with Bledsoes... ahh nevermind....

Recent Players I wish were still here AND capable to play:

The young, injury free Ted Johnson
Curtis "My Favorite Martian" ( I have a signed NFL football from his Rookie Year :) )
Ben Coates
Sam Gash
Kevin Turner (didn't do too much after leaving here)

Chad Who? This Seymour kid might be going stupid on people next year if he has a full training camp under his belt - he might be pretty good

There was a stretch in the late 1970s where the Pats had the best talent in the NFL---but they couldn't get it done. How many All-Pro players? Hannah and Leon Gray on the O-line, Stanley Morgan, Russ Francis, Steve Nelson and Raymond Clayborn on D, two outstanding pass rushers in Sugar Bear Hamilton and Tony McGee---all players that I'd like to see back. But the best of them all was the left side of the O-line, Hannah and Gray. They made two mediocre running backs, Sam Cunningham and Craig James, into great runners. They started to slide when they let Gray go to Houston as a free agent rather than paying him what he was worth. I remember one game against the Jets, where Joe Klecko shot his mouth off before the game. Not only did Klecko not get close to Grogan, he spent most of the afternoon on his back courtesy of Gray.

Grogan's big problem was he never looked beyond his primary receiver. Eason and Cavanaugh had better arms, but Grogan had a better heart and head.

Mike - I don't know if you heard but Leon Gray passed away about 2 months ago of natural causes.

.....oooooooooops! wrong sport...

Ben Coates ? why don't they trade him back, instead of sittin on someone else's bench!!!...GREAT TE!!...just gettin old now:(

Chris Slade played great with Willie Mcguineee...he's quiet now too...

.....As much as I hate to say it....Curtis Martin....that traitor!!:af: ..I LOVE YOU MAN!!!

No, John, they didn't run that down here in the papers. That's too bad.

I'm not so sure that it was "natural" for someone in his early 50s. I suspect like most other linemen back then, steroids played a part in his bulk.

AND ONE OF THE GAMES BEST PUNT RETURNERS.#5 A QUARTER BACK IN ONLY HIS SECOND YEAR IN THE n f l FIRST AS A STARTER .HAS DONE A GREAT JOB HE MAY NOT BE THE BEST LONG PASSER BUT HES A SMART PASSER #6 AND THE BEST BACK UP QUARTER BACK IN THE N F L. #7 a coach who was hated by all when he was with the browns . every one said he could,nt coach. well hes proved us all wrong. so who would i like to see in a pats uniform. well theses guys the 2002 A F C EAST CHAMPS. and the will beat the black and silver

Yeh CD - you also forgot to turn off the cAPS lOCK :smash: :hihi:

MikeP - the article said that he had played too hard off the field for a few years after he got out but got things in order again for a while. Everything I saw said "natural causes" but no specifics....

come back to play....Sam "Bam" Cunningham (did you ever see the Pats in a third and three that he didn't get the yardage? Me either....

biggest loss....Mike Haynes (height of stupidity to have let him go to the Raiders way back when...)
