The spacebar key and the backspace key on my wife's laptop are not working - they are not stuck and all the other keys seem fine.
Any idea what could cause that?

chances are its not the case, but is num/scroll lock on?

Its also possible that the kybd cable in the laptop is loose. Try removing the keyboard and reseat the cable.

it could also be that the keyboard is bad.

Fixed it..it was a loose cable...
