yeah, i gave them to my dad's workers. they have been feeding me since i was little from their kitchens, so i return the favors to them.

i wished that i could have landed more black seabass if it wasnt for the skates.

Yum!!!!!!! Nice work Joseph! Those Sea-Bass are wicked good eating. Enjoy. I never ever caught one that big, mostly 2-3 pounds at the top end. You lucky dawg!

hell ya, i am. lol. steve, my friend and i were looking for albie, bones, and spanish mack, but couldnt find them and decided to try fluking. 1 oz bucktail spro with a strip of squid produces flukes and black beabass. im wondering that if 5 lbs is a record breaker or not...?

The 5is are nice, but we get em that size with regularity in deep water later fall when blackfishing... very aggressive fish, they often make ya think you have a big fluke on till you see that blue/black shadow appear

doh, if i did land a record breaking black seabass, should i call IFGA and get it weight and earn cash? i caught it on a light tackle setup with 20 lbs power pro and 30 lbs segar. damn, 3 pounds away.

cool, bryan, i would like to fish for them in fall cuz i would like to land a minimuscular monster black seabass

Great Catch.

Where I come from, 20 lb test is not light tackle. 8 lb test is...

Either way, great job.

I don't think you get any cash from the IGFA for a world record fish. All you get is your moment of fame for being the record holder until the next big one is caught.

If you were to catch a world record Large mouth or maybe striper , you could possibly cash in on the fame but it wouldn't be money from the IGFA. In all honesty , I don't think you could make a penny off being the world record holder for a sea bass.

However , it would be fun to catch a big one! :)

oh well, a fame is a greatest thing

They say that when someone breaks the record for Large Mouth Bass it would be worth upwards of.......One MILLION Dollars (said in my best Dr. Evil Voice)....if not more, in tackle endorsments and appearances.

I think you are right about the Million but not a dime would be from the IGFA.

Got Stripers

I'd have given them the fluke and eaten the black sea bass, those are much better than fluke IMHO.

yeah, but black sea bass is a prized food to chinese. black sea bass steamed with soy sauce, ginger, and scallion... the crimewatchers ate it with my parents.

Nice fish Joe!

I would have kept them all. Next time, try eating the fluke raw. Slice thin, sprinkle with fresh lemon and lime, place in freezer for 10 minutes. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi. YUM!

Sea bass? I NEVER give away sea bass! If it's sea bass, it dies. :hee:

Hey, if you're up for it, we'll have to go on an offshore all-you-can-catch-jumbo black seabass trip in January. Yes, January. :buds:
