View Full Version : Cave do-over
Karl F 08-07-2005, 10:59 AM OK... I'm way behind on this one, promised wife this about 2 years ago.. so... what better way to get away from mung season, and the summer doldrums
I am going fishing again, before fall run, and during... just need to get that cookie jar refilled a bit.. and then the pressure will be on to re-open plug room...
Basement getting organized, and cut in half... had the first yard sale, did the many dump runs, then crammed everything over onto "my side"...
What I do an my days off... for a while....
Karl F 08-07-2005, 11:00 AM insulate and frame
Karl F 08-07-2005, 11:01 AM my side
Got to be careful Karl. Your side will turn into storage for her "stuff" now that her side is all nice and neat. Don't ask me how I know about these things  :D
justplugit 08-07-2005, 07:48 PM Geez, there's no grass growin under your feet. Your really crankin along there Karl.:hihi:
Reminds me of the little ambitious kid next door. Walked by his fathers
station wagon one day and he was in there painting the inside of the car
with a brush and a gallon of white paint. I said hey Ronnie what are ya doin?
He says,"i'm paintin the car, next i paint the house.:laughs: No lie.

ProfessorM 10-15-2005, 03:06 PM Ah sheetock. I pulled down and replaced every piece of rock in my house several years ago. I did all the work myself demo and finish. That was enough for a life time. Hope never to do it again. Looks good Karl

Swimmer 10-15-2005, 08:51 PM Karl....when I moved into my then new house in "80" my wife and I had an agreement. She got the first and second floor and the cellar was mine. And its still that way.
Flaptail 10-17-2005, 12:00 PM Ah Karl if my wife ever saw those pictures she would be all over my ass to do the same thing and you know I ain't got that kinda time what with fishin and all. Jeez why did you have to go and do something like that for? Jeez, double jeez. Pics like that make me feel giulty. She has been after me for years to do that. Jeez, I gotta go fishin and shake off the guilt now. Kripes sakes, Jeez!!!!
Slipknot 10-17-2005, 05:39 PM Looks great Karl :btu:
Do you have the stair parts yet? carpet or wood on the steps?
Karl F 10-17-2005, 10:40 PM Thanks Slip, yeah stairs are done, (wood, cut my risers, and stuff today, and installed). I'll post a pic tomorrow, just in from Lowell, looooong night, but another win for the kids team :D
Flap, sorry, but, in a way it's all your fault ;)... I had to do something while I was waiting for you to call about that boat ride, Aug, Sept, Oct..... no call

I know what you mean Karl but I have not been out in my boat since early September. Fishing for me sucked this year ( cept for tuna but it ain't my boat). It ain't ova yet but I hear someone singing very softly. The weather sure hasn't cooperated. Just when it looked like it could get good on the beach, wham, 8 days of wind , rain and run-off. Oh well there still is a little time.
Karl F 10-18-2005, 11:16 AM I hear ya Flap, I've had a couple of "good nights", :D and chased a lot of skunks.
Slip, here's the stairs, nothings "finished yet, might end up with a runner, will decide later. That funky closet door under the stairs, and the little doorway near the chimney cleanouts... thinking of getting some WP4 and building them outta that... what U think
Slipknot 10-18-2005, 06:10 PM WP4? what's that?
Ya I see it's not finished, you need ballisters and railings for both sides.
Why no skirt boards?
You've been busy I can tell.
time to fish
Karl F 10-18-2005, 07:23 PM Gonna go with a K.I.S.S. approach, as open a look as possible. I wanted to wall straight up, enclosed staircase, but was vetoed by the boss, she wants the open look, so that's, that.
Back to work, vaca over, so it will be catch as catch can for a while. Probably poke along with mud and tape now, as time allows. Still soccer season, and post season playoffs coming soon, :btu: and I got a couple more trips down the sand to do, I hope.
