What would you do if you if the bite has been slow and you have read on the interblab and in magazines that the fishing has been hot in a neighboring state?
I vote # 2....I like my spots

View Full Version : what would you do?? Slingah 08-27-2005, 10:09 AM What would you do if you if the bite has been slow and you have read on the interblab and in magazines that the fishing has been hot in a neighboring state? I vote # 2....I like my spots Maloney 08-27-2005, 10:21 AM Unless it is December and someone's talking about the better bite in Florida, I don't like to fly around like some crazed bumble bee-looking to score on info from blab and magazines.. I would like to check my local and favorite locations first, just to be sure. If I had unlimited free time , I might just do the "chase helicopter" thing. CAL 08-27-2005, 10:28 AM #2 or try some new spots I've been scoping out (I guess that would be #3) Put me down for 2 1/2. piemma 08-27-2005, 10:30 AM See, I would stay put like you guys and the majority of the guys who have responded but that doesn't seem to be the case with what I saw last night. What is really interesting is that the reports are all at least 24 hours old or older and the fish have fins. They move. I'm betting all the spot jumping nitwits I saw last night got skunked. the fish are moving around right now and the bite has cooled somewhat. BigFish 08-27-2005, 11:01 AM I voted number 3 but number 2 also applies......I don't chase yesterdays fishing reports and I don't like fishing in crowds....so I like to find out of the way spots and don't care to what lengths I have to walk to find them! :) Slingah is the new poll king! :laugha: piemma 08-27-2005, 11:03 AM AMEN Larry BigFish 08-27-2005, 11:04 AM Piemma...I hope we will still be hooking up......we don't spot burn or spot jump.....but I understand if you stay underground. :) t.orlando 08-27-2005, 11:26 AM Aways have and always will go to the fish. Big fish on the outer cape, I'll go there, big fish in RI, I'll go there,etc.....Dont need specific spots, just general areas. Its good to have friends that fish all over. Lotsa miles on my vehicle. riverrat2 08-27-2005, 12:11 PM I Totally agree T. :claps: Striperhound 08-27-2005, 12:38 PM know your area and spots and stick with them. Nothing builds confidence more than sticking with your regular spots and searching your brain for the answers to the puzzle instead of searching for the fish. piemma 08-27-2005, 12:52 PM Piemma...I hope we will still be hooking up......we don't spot burn or spot jump.....but I understand if you stay underground. :) Larry: PM me when you guys are ready. We'll find some rocks without nitwits. Sea Dangles 08-27-2005, 01:33 PM Who is the nitwit posting specific spot names? If they weren't there before, they'll be there now. BigFish 08-27-2005, 01:40 PM :jump: We are swapping spots right Piemma? You must fish my area too! :rotfl: Swimmer 08-27-2005, 07:20 PM This is just a Machievelian back door way of getting people to burn their spots, or Freudian, or Klingon, or Slingaon, yes thats it. Goose 08-27-2005, 08:40 PM Going to where the fish are doesn't mean going to where the crowd is. Gotofish 08-27-2005, 08:55 PM I'll travel once in a blue moon for fish, but usually stay put out of laziness. Go where you know, and for me it's a pretty limited area piemma 08-27-2005, 11:23 PM :jump: We are swapping spots right Piemma? You must fish my area too! :rotfl: Ditto!!!! The Dad Fisherman 08-28-2005, 12:34 AM I don't mind taking a ride...I like checking out other areas just for the hell of it. Tagger 08-28-2005, 07:29 AM interblab,,,mags,, learnt that a long time ago ... chase that and your always where the fish were ,, u know where,,, sometimes you hit it right sometimes you just missed it .. I think after Oct you better start headin south if you want to chase.. sometimes you just have to let it go .. Tagger 08-28-2005, 07:30 AM :jump: We are swapping spots right Piemma? You must fish my area too! :rotfl: just don't burn my spot !!! take him to the gut .. BigFish 08-28-2005, 07:33 AM No worries Ed! ;) 5/0 08-28-2005, 04:31 PM If the bite isn't on where I normally fish I'll try spot that have produced in the past and give it a go. I have gone to "new spots" on a whim, but I tend to fish spots I know. 5/0 Pete F. 08-28-2005, 05:46 PM I always fish in neighboring states, preferably coastal ones.
