Just thought I'd pop another picture up. Here's two Giant BigEye Swimmers and one of my regular jointed swimmers. Some of you may have seen the jointed plugs, but the Giants haven't been in too many hands yet. They are big - not something you'd choose to cast casually - but if a big bait is in order, they are pretty cool.

Thanks all! The big guys are about 3.5oz and run around 7" long. Not the kind of thing you'll need everyday, but definately worth throwing when there is some big bait around.

Another beautiful work of art. With the bar set so high by you guys it will be years till I got the guts to show my wooden plugs. Then again it could be years till I finish one. Beautiful. Paul

U'd be surprised how well a big bait works when.peanuts are around.something i do all the time.outsizing the bait.i believe it is easier for a bass to locate a large bait amongst a school of peanuts than one that is more alike in size to the other millions of little baitfish out there.

This is very true. A larger Swimmer(6"danny is what I experienced it with) in a school of Peanuts is a Target just looking to get smacked. I Had bass on every single cast a # of times under same conditions at Montauk.In fact it was my best fishing last year. Not sure if the plugs were viewed as competition or just easier to pick out, but the bass were zeroing in on the larger plug immediately. The rubber storm shads that tried to match the peanuts were NOT scoring as well . I later compared notes with some guys who were throwing even LARGER plugs and did very well also.

What color was your large Danny swimmer, and did you switch to the same swimmer in another color once the sun went down?

It's a Pogey color. White belly, yellow sides, gray scales on top. Little bit of red for the chin. I only fish in the dark so the second part of you question is a no.

Thats more like what I was talkin bout.3 oz plugs.Like a A-40 or the big danny.works well an always seem to land one of the larger fish.Sometimes gets u just over the bar where the better fish are sometimes...I like the pogie pattern looks nice an all.But I do way better wit white, yellow or chartruse.One o me friends says if it ain't chartruse ther is no use.made a believer out of me.at night chartruse stays home an black comes out.i like solid clors on a danny or a subtle blend from one color to the next.no eyes.or if u must eyes that match the body color well.the plug has to much roll.but a great snakelike action couple that wit a nice bucktail wit about 5 feathers an it comes to life stop the retrive on the back side of a wave an as soon as the next pull starts hold on.

Had a situation last night where chartruse/white may have been key; left the white gear at home as it was foggy; soon as I hit the ledge the moon came on like a spotlight... d'oh

The big plug in a school of Peanuts is an automaic for me now. Color seems to make the diff most times. I usually start with all white or white with rend chin or white flash, and experiment from there. When the fish are on peanuts its pretty obvious,so its just a practice in fine tuning, then u smash the barbs and get buzy.

Ive been throgh two of these and I have a brand new one that will launch tomm.

Finger mullet are present - not in large numbers yet but theirs schools.

This lure will be deadly - or for the peanut buker there :) :thanks:
