gore tex jacket for the fall. I have good neoprene waders and layer up when it is cold....best advise for not breaking the bank yet staying dry?
If anyone is getting rid of good used gear I woudl be intersted....
I am an XL and a PA (poor ass)

You should look at getting a rubberized Grunden's foul weather top. Every surfcaster should have one.

I've used the Cabelas dry-plus jacket for years. It's never let me down. I think they are still only ~$100.

Carhart has a nice rubber jacket with neoprene cuffs for under $50.

Might be the road I take this fall since I don't surf fish all that much.

I've got both a breathable Patagonia wading jacket and a Grundens unlined pullover. The breathable is nice if you've got a walk ahead of you or you're fishing in spray but if you're seriously "takin' it to the suds"- (it's really the way to let you know you're alive!)- get the Grundens. They're made for work,affordable and 5/0 hook-proof. Don't forget a wader belt!
