Fishing was sketchy on so many levels yesterday. :nopain: Long and short, no fish -- no bites! So the fish with my name on them are still up in Maine? What water temps in MA and RI should I be looking for to start getting excited? I'm ready to start hooking worms for kivvers, just so I can feel what it feels like to catch a fish again.

Babe:
Don't get antsy. It's real slow everywhere. I fished 6 hours Sat night/Sun AM from Watch Hill to Black Point in RI. I 26" and 1 about 15 lbs.
Friday night skunkero. last night Skunked again. Total for 3, days 12 hours in the surf. I short, 1, 15 lb. pretty poor for Sept.
Also I get lots of reports from friends on the SoCo shore and everyone was real slow this weekend. We surmise the big heave the week before had a lot to do with it.

Lots of blues and a few bass busting bait hard at a certain spot in RI yesterday evening. Glad i made the trip down. Been awhile since i've seen some good blitz action! :D

It'll turn on; last Aug we had similar conditions (big heave)
I was looking at notes... right after the water cleared after the 3rd storm or so we got into fish big numbers and decent size... you remember where P :D
it just happens to be a month later this year

it's a short list of places... :rollem: lots of small bait near me.... not far from patrick.... seeing large schools of small bass, but they are keyed on the tiny bait...threw evrything in the bag... tried all my tins with no luck... good tides coming this weekend but it's also a full moon.... if the weather cooperates I may break out the kayak for a midnight jaunt through the bay into the river... :bl:

Same thing going on in Winthrop. Faun Bar is hot and cold. We had some nice cows move in for the first 2 weeks of August. Commercial fishing put a huge dent in that push. Like everywhere else big push of silversides with blitzing during 2nd half of August and Blues dominated. The last 2 weeks up till yesterday has been lots of bait and hardly any fish.

This time last year was a feast. I am sad to say that it has been famine.

Same story up North. Manchester Harbor and Pebble Beach Rockport had that big push of forage for a couple of days and then turned into an Aquarium after that. Loads of Bass giving me the finger while they passed by the kayak.

Back from Texas from seeing our granddaughter number 2. Before I left through the 1st of Sept every AM fish inside my usual spot into the 30+ inch range. Slow yesterday and today, one short this AM. But at least they were bustin. Almost all fish in last several weeks, even the keeper size were on the teasers regardless of what the teaser was in front of. Love those sparse teasers this time of year.
