Hi guys - I've just discovered limewire.com - a friend told me about it- my question is - It seems too good to be true. Is it legal??? Are there any circumstances under which it is legal to download music ??

its only legal if your paying for it
or its public domain

limewire is still full of viruses and spyware too.

not really worth it.

unfortunately it is illegal to download those songs. or videos.

And whenever i turn it or any of the other peer to peers like it on, my firewall starts going crazy with attacks.

But there sure is a lot of free music on those suckers... :faga:

Thanks guys - So it's illegal and dangerous to your hardware to use peer to peer. Got it! Here's a follow up question (and btw - this whole train of thought got started because I just got an ipod)

So I've started uploading all my cd's to the puter - but many of them are scratched and skip. is there any way to get a CD fixed - so it doesnt skip?? If I have the CD - seems to me i have a "license" and shouldn't have to pay for a new one.

If your cd's themselves are scratched physically, get and old toothbrush, and brush them the same way you would your teeth with a bit of toothpaste. That should fix minor scratches. Record stores also sell and lil thing you pu the cd's in and it kinda waxes the scratches out.

There's a tool called a CDDoctor. It'll polish scratches from your CDs. Gouges, not so much.
