Guys and gals -
Im a BU student, and been lurking on the boards for abit, posting once in awhile. :wavey: Ive heard that anywhere near the airport is decent fishin this time of year, but thats abit far from BU for me. Anyone have any good recommendations as to where the fish might be hiding in the Boston University/Kenmore Sq area? Also, any type of guide for what bait to use? (Fly casting or spin) Id like to hit blues or striper, but have been skunking lately almost everywhere I go, so anything I catch would be a trip.
Thanks mucho -
John

The closet place I can think of are the locks at the mouth of the Charles river. I've never fished there and I don't know what kind of access you have there but do some scouting and you never know!

For spinning
you can use chunk bait - herring, mackeral, clams or sandworms
after dark you can try tossing eels.
As far as artificial go.....you will get as many opinions as there are types of artificials.
Try sluggos or shad type rubber - everyone seems pretty happy using those.

I live in Boston too up in Allston. I rarely fish around the city however, there are a couple t accessible spots. Southy has castle hill and the Black falcon terminal is suppose to produce fish. I also have had some success around the JFK museum and Umass Boston. Your best bet is to fish small plugs, storm shads and travel light because some places require a walk. Some guys non striper fish on the charles from the locks to watertown, but you will only catch dirty carp and cat fish which isn't really my style. :yak6:
Drop me a PM sometime if you want to toss a line, the city angler is a rarity these days.
P.S. No one here give me a hard time about spot burning because all these spots are pretty well known and quite frankly the city is crowded already I'm not too concerned about it being over run by fisherman
The harbor is loaded with bass and blues, get anywhere you can see out the main channel. Black falcon is good, Castle island pier. I'm not sure if they are coming in close enough, but its worth a shot, you will see birds and breaks everywhere, the harbor is loaded with bait. THATS A FACT !!!!!! If I could post the screen on my fishfinder WOW>.....
