There are a couple of guys here who build spooks that are featured in a nifty article in The Fisherman this week! :kewl: Very nice article for you both Afterhours and Tattoo! ;)

Did anyone see the ugly mug of the guy with the 25 pounder at Cutty in the reports section???? And on a junior spook no less!

Not so sure about the afterhours spooks, but the Tattoo spooks and sea pups kick butt. Awesome action, superb finish and nearly indestructible build. Tattoos sea spook usually gets my first fish of the year every april. Haven't heard much aboot the afterhours, but with Tattoos spooks you cannot go wrong.

Choggieman....I have seen the Afterhours spooks in action....Don the chief cook and bottlewasher at Afterhours is a buddy of mine and he blew me away with the action and the catching ability of these plugs, in particular but not limited to the Jr Spook he makes! The action is nuts! See the picture in The Fisherman on page 24R.....noontime on a late july day at Cuttyhunk....that 25 pounder swallowed the plug hard! They work....give them a shot! :kewl:

This is not a paid public announcement. ;)

Both spooks are great. IMO you need both because they both have different qualities.

Bigfish, I am sure you are right. I just have not had a chance to buy or fish an afterhours plug. But after the disturbing Pm I just got from afterhours himself, I do not think I will ever own one.
As far as accomplishments.. I know of a 44lber taken on a Tattoo spook back in june in Soco..... thats all the encouragement I need.

I fish my Afterhours Jr Spooks, everytime out if there is some chop. Probably my favorite plug I own, at least top three. They walk sweet both on top or just below the surface. You can dart them along inside a wave and watch them get whaled and inhaled...Mine are beat up hard, and it isn't from rocks :humpty:

I apologize for any misinterpretation, but all I meant to convey was that I do not have any feedback to give or have I gotten any from friends concerning the afterhours line of spooks. Honest. He has his loyal followers, so that should speak volumes for him. I on the other hand, have neither a good or bad report on his products.

"Wood is only good...nothing else rhymes with wood?"

Larry - if you trying to bust my balls, don't.

Tattoo.....I am not trying anything. You might be out of line here. No problems with me, just an innocent bystander giving kudos to all 3 of you guys in the article. If I was going to bust anyones chops...I would be up front about it and not beat around the bush! I don't have time for pissing contests so count me out!

I was able to give the article a read, thought it was written well and presented all three manufacturers well. I have been fortunate to use both Tattoos and Afterhours, both are phenomenal and both have their specific benefits. Either way, I have been a big wood spook fan for more than a year and enjoy using them both. I have not tried the other one yet, but will do so soon. Big plugs, big wood and big fish is how I see it.

I should add that after a recent night of just one bump on an eel east of Watch Hill and west of Beavertail, just before the sun cracked over Jamestown, I had a bass crush a white Tattoo spook and come two feet clear out of the water - and this was in 6 feet of water - not skinny water syndrome. Not a horse, just in the twentys, but nice shoulders, beautiful fish, and definitely the whack of the year the way it leaped out of the water...

Yeah Johnny I did! I sent it in to the magazine and I wrote most of the caption....to all of you builders who were in on the "Master Builder" thread awhile back....the only part of that caption I did not write was the beginning where it refers to Afterhours as a "Master Plug Builder". Someone at the magazine took a little creative license and punched the caption up by adding that. Just thought you guys should know so we ain't making any waves. When I saw that I could not believe it!

Thought it was a great pic so I sent it in...I do that for my fishing buddies when they have a great moment like that. It makes it fun I think and a little special for them.....thats what its all about....plus we get to give them a hard time about it! :hihi:
