View Full Version : fresh bait on the north shore? Johnny C 09-20-2005, 08:43 AM Anyone know whos got some?//// Fishguts 09-20-2005, 09:25 AM Where are you planning to go? There are a lot of tackle shops on the north shore. spinncognito 09-20-2005, 10:45 AM Lots of fresh herring around. Check the local plants in Gloucester. I know that the place near the Building Center got some yesterday. Another option would be to grab a sabiki rig and jig up some of the spike mackerel that are in the harbor. Good luck. spinn vman 09-20-2005, 11:00 AM Will be heading to Wellfleet on Thursday evening from Philly arriving about 3 AM.Is there anywhere I can get bait ? Bait stores don't open till 7 or 8 AM.Thanks in advance for your help. lurch 09-20-2005, 11:17 AM by the time you get out dealing with the BS at the airport the shops will be open ~5:00amish so you should be all set. Johnny C 09-20-2005, 01:46 PM I don't want to get all the way up there to get shut out. spinncognito 09-20-2005, 02:05 PM Nothing is a sure thing. Best bet to try early. They open at 4:30AM. I do not know the numbe or I would share it with ya. love_2_fish 09-21-2005, 05:50 AM Johnny, I would try Al's Bait in Beverly, located on the beverly side of the Beverly/Salem bridge. He's going to have herring if anybody does. bluefin22 09-21-2005, 07:57 AM Theres a place right on harbor loop road, i have always gotten bait from them. Their hrs are 430-930. I dont know the name of it but its not to hard to find. Its the 1st building on the right once you enter the road. I also did this 2 weekends ago when i got there late. Look for a lobster boater loading bait and if you help them load bait they usually will let you take some. Hope this helps. hq2 09-21-2005, 01:39 PM Actually, I wouldn't try Al's bait. Al is both rude and overpriced. Go to Pete's instead. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
