My sister owns a business, so she got to go back this weekend. Most of these are of her apartment -- she lives on the first floor. Somehow all of the downed trees missed crashing thru walls or windows.

Bass Babe 09-22-2005, 04:56 PM But they didn't miss the cars... The big old Chevy only had a back windows popped out and basically kept it's shape. Good to know how safe it was. The brown Mercedes ran on biodiesel and the motor crapped a week before they evacuated. Joke's on the person who tried to hotwire it! :rotf3: Bass Babe 09-22-2005, 04:57 PM Toxic mold, anyone? Apparently their resident rat went nuts on the kitchen and that was pretty tore up, and the toilet had a thick coating of black, furry mold on the inside. Bass Babe 09-22-2005, 05:02 PM The whole city looked like a ghost town, except for troops walking down the streets in pairs. Jeff said, "If anyone jumps out and starts shooting at us, duck, and I'll run them over. You'll be okay, because they'll be aiming for me, anyways." Nothing of the sort happened, thank goodness. The high water lines were far above their heads on overpasses on the way out. A nice thing, though -- there was a story about my sister in the Worcester Telegram, and in it, Ian had said that he missed his Pokemon cards. A 15 year old boy in a neighboring town here mailed books and books filled with the cards to Ian's school. The principal let him call the boy from the office to thank him. So nice. :uhuh: NaCl H2O 09-23-2005, 09:53 AM Does insurance cover the damage to the car/truck? Bass Babe 09-23-2005, 10:21 AM Does insurance cover the damage to the car/truck? Well, the truck's been sitting in the yard for years (whiskey tango mullet style), and I'm not sure the Mercedes was worth much -- I think it was an 80s model. But they'll probably try to get something for it, though, eventually. I have a feeling they didn't have renter's insurance, either. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
