sick bas%$rds are using dogs as shark bait
A MAN has been arrested by cops probing the use of live dogs as shark bait, it was revealed last night. It comes a day after The Sun published horrific photos of a pup with a fishing hook through its snout.
Cops on French-controlled Reunion Island say a man will appear in court tomorrow. And last night the French Embassy vowed to target more rogue fishermen.
It said: “Such acts are illegal and intolerable.”
Animal welfare group Sea Shepherd will pay £680 to any cop who catches a fisherman baiting a dog.
Thousands contacted the RSPCA and The Sun after reading our story.
In one case, a six-month-old labrador puppy had its paws bound with wire and was used for bait.

Slipknot 10-06-2005, 07:30 PM That is terrible :yak5: :af:
Redneck, that pic is too disturbing, maybe you can edit it out
BrianS 10-06-2005, 07:45 PM I have to wonder how legit that is.
sounds like they could use some seals??? :devil2:
Bass Babe 10-06-2005, 08:36 PM I'm crossing my fingers that it's photoshopped. Though I've met a couple dogs that I would gladly trade for a shark. One just missed taking a chunk out of my boo-tay, and instead ripped the back of my jacket. I'll ship him over; they can use him.
spence 10-06-2005, 10:16 PM Snopes says there may be some truth to it, but the recent story going around is greatly exagerated. The photo they contend is actually real, but of a dog caught in some fishing gear...not baited...

So we can all go back to loving French women and Delacroix...
mounter au beurre!

Karl F 10-07-2005, 05:23 AM Awful.. but that pooch looks more like he grabbed some hooked bait, and got caught... as opposed to being rigged... them front lips are soft, you try draggin him (figureing from the head size, about 60-70 pounds body mass) behind a boat, rigged like that, they'd pull right out.
Pete_G 10-07-2005, 06:53 AM This farce is spreading like the I Love You virus. PETA must be thrilled.

I was wondering if it was a PETA scam, they pull a lotta chit like that.
Pete_G 10-07-2005, 09:00 AM PETA or someone like them.
Raven 10-07-2005, 12:59 PM Penn and Tellers bull%$%$%$%$e....piece on Peta....it was so awesome..
when they showed their walk in refridgerator for freezing the dead animals
they supposedly rescue..... they are really sick people...
teaser 10-10-2005, 04:24 PM Whether or not this story is true ...ANYONE & I MEAN ANYONE who agrees with this practice or makes light of it is a total F****ing Jerk! A dog or cat is a pet, a companion and most times a best friend, it should not be joked about knowing one to volunteer to send over there or anything on that idea!
I am not a PETA lover nor do I agree with alot of the stuff they come up with to try and get at us for fishing, I like all dogs. There are "no" bad dogs, just bad trainers and jerks that teach them to be nasty.
The courts should (if the story is real) give this guy in question an all expense paid fishing trip to Austrailia, take his a$$ out in a boat and put the hooks through his nads and troll with him over the Great Barrier Reef, Fantastic sharkin' there if you like Great Whites!
Dogs are people too!
Bass Babe 10-10-2005, 10:36 PM Dogs are dogs. Canis familiaris
People are people. Homo sapiens
Just to clear up any confusion.

i agree 100%! :kewl:
MoroneSaxatilis 10-11-2005, 05:26 PM Dogs may be people too, but I know a few people who are Dogs.
Prosocute the offenders in that story to the full extent of the law.
